As current android user, I think the iPhone 4 looks pretty cool even though it shares a lot in common with the earlier iPhones (I"ve owned them all).

That being said, I think I've come to the conclusion that I need to have 2 phones/devices: One Android and one iOS.

When is Apple going to support an open app store?

We he did explain why he doesn't. He doesn't want Apps to crash. I know apps crash now but why have a lot more of them. Android apps crash also but the devs are quick to fix them.

Thank god I'm not the only one:D

LMAO

The next version of Android (2.2) coming out now has native tethering. Just that craps on anything Jobs announced today let alone the million other things Android can do iPhone cant :)

I have never had a need for tethering in my life, so the fact that it "craps on anything Jobs anounced today" is not true for everybody. I'd rather my next phone have bettery battery life then my current phone instead of much worse (Evo) and have tethering which is unnecessary for me.

The Android logo is cuter :D

When is Apple going to support

4G
Flash
video conferencing to people NOT on an iphone
True multitasking
native tethering

I could go on....

File system browser
Removable battery
Removable media card
Notification tray
Widgets

Nice to see I'm not the only one either. :D

I have a Ipad and EVO... goot combo.. still debating on whether to get rid of the Ipad.. I realllllllly want a Android tablet.. or more features to be enabled on the Ipad

iOS also has native tethering. The carriers aren't going to allow android tethering to be free either. Notice I use a Droid so dont claim I am an Android hater.

TONS of people want the ability to tether, you are in a minority. Oh, I can just swap a bigger battery into my Evo if I need more battery life, already have. Too bad you are stuck with a stock battery in the iPhone. Gotta take what they are willing to give you, seems to be a theme with the iPhone :)

Apple took what the EVO does with video chat and made it look and feel just so much BETTER.

Apple may not have the highest spec sheet out there but their products are always just better, especially the smoothness of the OS.

Apple wins this round to me.

I own many Apple products (even more so than my sig), but I am getting pretty bored with iPhone OS, I mean iOS. iPhone 4 and iOS 4 seem boring to me. Froyo and the whole Android ecosystem seems so appealing to me now after having an iPhone since day one, but I am tied to AT&T till November (iPhone 2G got stolen, had to get a new contract when forced to replace it with a 3g). I really want an EVO 4g but the ridiculous ETF from AT&T isn't worth it :(

of course apple wont show crappy quality in their keynote.

got to admit the apple video chat seems awesome. Wifi only. Iphone 2 iphone only. AWESOME

tbh, apart from the increase in size, i don't see how this is much different to having an external battery that you just pop into the dock connector?

i used to have a BB and hated that the battery would pop out whenever i dropped it.

Been there done that!

I have yet to run into a serious battery issue with my iPhone.

Use about 2 gigs a month data and I have yet to run out of juice. I do own a Juicy Case that is an extra batt but have used twice when I was on an all day shoot running around Iowa.

With a charger in my car, office and home I am never far from a recharge so why should I schlep an extra battery around?

You're life might work best with an extra battery and remember to charge them all so they are ready to go but mine doesn't.

Awful battery life
Buggy OS
Crashing Apps
Slow Responsiveness
Devices are outdated in 2-3 months of purchase

But iOS4 is supposed to fix that. As for Android thankfully we don't have to worry about any those issues ;)

I guarantee you carriers won't be able to shut down native tethering on the Nexus One. That's the beauty of an open phone.
