Wow Apple can't keep up even with HTC? Really? They have much better specs on the incredible than iphone 4. Steve you are disappointing me!

Somewhere, Google, HTC, Motorola and Samsung executives are having a huge party. iPhone 5.0 won't be out for another year and Android is already winning.

Pretty much. Apple's already playing catch-up in almost every respect with regard to hardware (save the screen resolution...somewhat mitigated by effective perceived difference, not to mention the larger physical screens available for Android phones). As for software? It's not even close.

Considering the majority of people won't be able to use a 4G network next year or the year after, and after that 3G networks will still be everywhere, i think it's a pretty safe investment. Unlike buying an EVO 4G with it's appalling battery life. :(

Sprint is good at getting new tech to cities fast. Look how fast Rev A hit the country after their first Rev A phone was released. Stop talking non scene.

Screen resolution is a wash compared to the Evo. The human eye wont be able to discern much difference at all between 960x640 on a 3.5 inch display and 800x480 on a 4.3 inch display. Apple should have bumped that screen size to 4.0 or at least 3.7, then it would have made an impact.

Didn't people say the same thing about the 3GS (just barely catching up)? And we all know what a fail the 3GS was

I really don't understand the haters if you aren't impressed then move along nothing to see here. The fanboys aren't hurting you with their claims of dominance and they will continue their statements long after your e thuggery has come and gone

I'll assume for a second that whatever device you are on, autocorrupted that last bit.

Sprint is a bit player and in the US only. Even so like i said a handful of cities. Call me when i can take a drive from Atlanta to NewYork and get 4G all the way.

Anyone fantasising or believing the marketing bull about 4G networks coming real soon, now.... Need to wake up.

+1

LMAO

The next version of Android (2.2) coming out now has native tethering.

Which will be shut down by just about every carrier once they release their own 2.2. update individually. As if they'll really allow it to be free...

And iOS has native tethering as well:

You're probably referring to hot-spot creation natively. Ok? We jailbreak and can do it. Most android users root their phone. Not much of a difference.

But yeah... keep fanboyism alive.

Sprint has already said they will not remove the tethering feature when they upgrade the Evo to 2.2 ;)

And why bring jailbreak into it, we are talking NATIVE tethering and Hotspot... no fanboyism, just a fact.

All this indifference and bashing is great. I hope all of you keep to your promise and move off of ATT's network and make room for me and the new iPhone I will be purchasing in a few weeks. Thank you.

I was slightly nervous about getting my Nexus One on a new 18 month contract two weeks ago, knowing that a new iPhone release was just around the corner.

I definitely made the right decision. The iPhone feels so locked down in comparison. It's the little things such as the apps being able to "talk" to each other, I can upload photos to whatever service I choose from within the native camera app, and the apps can do so much more because they have the ability to, rather than being sandboxed. And I have experienced nowhere near the amount of freezing, crashing and bugs on my Nexus as I did on my iPhone. I could go on and on.
I'm loving the look of iPhone 4, it's nice but would still feel locked down and antiquated if I were to switch back. Which is a shame because I love Apple.
Maybe next year then?

iPhone haters, why are you here?

I have never visited a single Android blog let alone posting in one. Is the Android blog too dull for you, or is spreading the hatred more interesting?

Does android make computers? Mp3 players?

Mac users can, gasp!, Use android phones.. I know its hard for a diehard to understand

ANd some people, like me, are former Iphone users..

But iOS4 is supposed to fix that. As for Android thankfully we don't have to worry about any those issues ;)

Except for a big one for me: abysmal wifi range. What's up with that?

Also, I can't seem to listen to a radio program through RadioTime and listen to the voice in navigation, both of with I can do easily with my jailbroken 3GS.

I'm not picking on the EVO (I'm evaluating one right now; love the huge screen), but these issues are personally huge to me.

The 4 is a nice iPhone, but one of Apple's handicaps is their once-a-year hardware update.

Between Dell, HP, Moto and HTC, there are going to be a lot of very compelling devices for sale on all carriers long before Apple's update cycle comes around.

And by this time next year, Verizon could be selling about a half dozen LTE handsets, most likely a mixture of WP7 and Android.

ported to sprint for the evo just ported back to att.... evo is a great phone... battery is ok but with same amount of use as I was doing with my 3GS it would die toward the end of my workday. The touch keyboard on the evo is AWFUL compared to the iphones. iPhone might be boring with rows upon rows of square icons but, what the iphone does it does oh so smoothly and I cant really ask for more... really sucks that the iphone is stuck on att as here in Los Angeles service is horrible but I'll deal with that just to have the iphone4... Anyone know if the microsim will improve signal strength or how bout that new bezel that acts as antenna?

Please don't get me wrong, I'm by no means an iPhone hater. I love Apple, and I love the iPhone platform and its potential, but there are some really cool things about Android I just wish Apple would implement into the iPhone, because I want it to be better. I want Apple to crush Android, because I know they could do so much better.

And for all the hoopla over the App Store rules and restrictions, nothing on the Android Market has crapped up my phone or infested it with porn. And I love the "uninstall + refund option" on the Market, that would be awesome if it were in the App Store!
