Awful battery life

Depends on YOUR USAGE, i get 10-12hours EASY on a day to day basis.

Buggy OS

Hmm Bugs where? I have had the phone since the 21st... and everything functions as it is suppose.. Have you used the phone for more the 30mins at the sprint store?

Crashing Apps

Apps dont crash on the Iphone?! lol.. ok buddy.. I have apps crash on my Ipad weekly..

Slow Responsiveness

Again? Have you used the phone?

Devices are outdated in 2-3 months of purchase

Iphone 4 is STILL outdated, and the phone isnt even out yet lol

See the bold, dont make general statements... I dont think you know what your talking about:cool:

LMAO

The next version of Android (2.2) coming out now has native tethering. Just that craps on anything Jobs announced today let alone the million other things Android can do iPhone cant :)

The iPhone has had native tethering since a year now. Just because you have garbage network carriers in the states doesn't mean other countries do.

In other news, user experience > feature fetish.

I guarantee you carriers won't be able to shut down native tethering on the Nexus One. That's the beauty of an open phone.

Nexus on Tmobile and ATT can use native tethering in Android 2.2

What is the highest pixel density available on an Android phone screen? Just asking, because the iPhone 4 screen looks very impressive to me...
(And tethering has been available for ages on the iPhone...where have you been?)

When is android going to support face time?

Jobs said during the keynote that Apple intends to submit face time to standards organizations "tomorrow". They intend for it to become an open standard. As such, presumably, any interested 3rd party should be able to negotiate licensing rights to the same technologies Apple used, and create an interoperable implementation.

So, when is Android getting face time? Maybe sooner than you think.

I'm no fanboy or anything.. i've owned all the iPhone from 2G-3Gs. Currently have EVO (testing if i want to keep it) iPhone 4 seems ok to me. Love the ppi on that phone and the resolution. Nothing magical or WOW factor ive heard today tho.

Btw, why not give us a little mini widget or something? Reason I love the EVO is i can always change the themes or widgets and still runs smooth. (not as smooth as iPhone when scrolling, but that's another issue) anyways... i'll keep this EVO for now till I see the iPhone 4 in person. Good competition here guys..

I ditched my 3GS for an HTC Desire a month ago. Especially since I only pay £10/month for 100 voice min (I dont know that many people here) +unltd texts and interwebs, I don't think I'll switch back to iPhone, and I've had since day one.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-gb; Nexus One Build/FRF50) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

Love the froyo!

Not a bad update to the iPhone imo. I'd guess most are only disappointed because of the leaks. Look at the iPhone 4 without the leaks in mind and it is a fantastic update.

When is Apple going to support

4G
Flash
video conferencing to people NOT on an iphone
True multitasking
native tethering

I could go on....

File system browser
Removable battery
Removable media card

Notification tray
Widgets

WOW! All of these thing I do not wan't... most importantly the FILE SYSTEM BROWSER! Lol...

Might as well be asking for a USB port to hook up a mouse. I have been watching all the Android stuff being released on the market and I am not impressed. That are clearly taking the Microsoft approach by pushing the OS on virtually any device capable and willing with no regards to implementations and standards. New devices alike are being released with Android 2.0+ all the way to 1.6 (just from what I have seen). All the devices are slow and clunky from the reviews I have seen or with ridiculously large screens and/or horrible battery life.

I buy Apple computers for the same reason I am going to buy their Phone... the hardware is quality, long lasting, and reliable. The software speaks for itself. As a developer, one of the biggest things I like more about the iPhone, is it doesn't use Java or Flash... I really don't like Java, and never have. HTML5 + CSS + Javascript is the way of the future for the web.

All of you whiners make me sick... All you do is whine about everything, the iPhone doesn't have this or that, Android can do this and that...****
I think the iPhone 4 is truly a marvelous gadget that will once again revolutionize the mobile phone experience in so many ways only to be known when it ships out to billions of people around the world :apple:

Wow. a little sensitive aren't we.

Its not an open standard until its been approved as a standard. Right now its a closed app and runs only on the iphone 4. Why not go with standard video calling that a lot of other handsets support and most operators support. Would have been a lot simpler.

Is NOT proprietary, (learn to spell loser), they are taking it to an open standards board.

LMAO! I bet you have never even touched an Android device in real life have you? You are like a person talking about how bad a car drives just from reading what a magazine says. In other words, its useless.

Tell us how Iphone 4 is going to revolutionize? What Revolutionary about it?

I hate all these general statements..

Well, this update leaves Apple still behind the curve...both with software and hardware (no 4G? Hope you're not planning on keeping this sucker for more than a year or so...anyone remember how much fun EDGE was on the original iPhone while everybody else was releasing 3G phones?).

Makes me happy I stuck with my HTC Hero. I'm not seeing anything compelling enough on the new iPhone to make me even consider buying one. Pretty sad, given that it's last year's hardware.

I think Android is a real competitor and that they are going to force the hand of AAPL to open things up a bit. Up until now, we have all been content to let Apple fully design the device and decide what gets put on it and what doesn't. But with the new Droids coming out that are way more versatile, it's just a matter of time until people realize that dumping $300 annually on the new iPhone just to receive whatever little nuggets Jobs decides the minions deserve this year just isn't going to work anymore. The fact of the matter is you have multiple manufacturers coming up with Android-based devices and they keep getting better and better. So you can get everything you get on the latest iPhone, and possibly more, for less money.

I'm not bashing Apple here, I'm just saying the game is changing and if they don't watch out Apple is going to start losing share. From my point of view, now that I have an iPad it makes having an iPhone much less desirable as it's essentially the exact same device, just smaller than the iPad. So why not go with something that is just as functional in terms of the apps I use and save at least $100 off of what I'd buy for the iPhone every year? Not to mention the fact that you get the Verizon network, which is a billion times better than AT&T.

The point is they are making it an open standard. Whether the body has approved it or not, developers and other phone manufacturers can start to build interoperable solutions.

Calling it proprietary is flame-bait trolling.

Yes, I've used the phone for at least a couple hours. My roommates owns an Evo, so I do know what I'm talking about. Yes, the amount of time your battery can last does depend on your usage, but it doesn't affect the fact that the battery life is much worse then the iPhone's. No matter what the circumstances, the iPhone will be better under similar usage. Now if your saying, the Evo usage times is good enough for you then okay that's fine, but it's not good enough for me.

I rarely ever have an app crash on me on my iPhone. Usually it's a server problem with whoever created the app and is usually fixed in a day or two. While I was using the Evo for 2 hours or so, I had at least 3 different apps crash or I had to close them down because they were stuck. Now maybe this isn't the norm for Android apps, but I've heard simliar problems from other people saying that Android apps aren't as polished as the one iPhone apps.

As far as slow responsiveness, you have to be crazy to not be able to notice what I'm talking about. I don't even want to waste my breath explaining it. Use any gesture in Android and see how long it takes. Be on the App list and continuously move your finger up and down through the app list. The list will not scroll with your finger, it is delayed.

As far as the rest of your points...I don't even feel like explaining. I'm glad your happy with Android. Now go to an Android forum and explain your joy over there. I don't know what kind of reassurance your looking for by talking to iPhone owners.

you forgot to end your post with "Heil Jobs!"

Do you have any original opinions or just opinion's you parrot?

Considering the majority of people won't be able to use a 4G network next year or the year after, and after that 3G networks will still be everywhere, i think it's a pretty safe investment. Unlike buying an EVO 4G with it's appalling battery life. :(
