I played around with the Motorola Droid recently to get a feel for the Android OS. I was not impressed. I found it confusing and laggy overall. Definitely not as polished and smooth as iPhone OS. Also, iTunes just makes syncing my 3G with my mac a seamless experience - plug in and forget it. That in itself is worth sticking with the iPhone. I've read some horror stories about syncing macs with other devices, especially BBs. No thanks.

I've been waiting since 2007 to get an iPhone, but my university is out in the boondocks according to AT&T, thus no 3G service. I couldn't muster up the logic to get an iPhone when I'd have to rely on EDGE but be paying for 3G. Verizon has had 3G here for a while now.

I've been waiting for an iPhone on Verizon, but that hasn't come and I can't wait anymore, thus I'm getting the HTC Incredible. I found the DROID interesting, but not speedy enough, looks like this HTC will do fine in that regard. Is it better than the 3GS? Yes and no. Yes in that I can actually get 3G on a daily basis, no in that I'd prefer the OS as well as the battery saving GSM network. I'll keep this likely till LTE or iPhone on VZW or till I leave the US for a little bit, the incredible currently is on a fedex truck coming tomorrow morning.

I'm kinda waiting for more on the Samsung Galaxy S. That thing is a beast. Supposedly it's coming to AT&T by this summer. I think I'll compare it and the new iPhone to see which one I like better. :D

Wow... A LOT of apple fanboys in here! IMO, the incredible is definitely the BEST phone in the market right now! I don't know how the heck people even complain about OLED!?! From what has been leaked about the iPhone 4G it has nothing against the Incredible and especially the upcoming EVO.

BTW, I think WebOS is the best OS in the market if it's build in the right hardware.

No complaints on OLED here. Even if it's worse in direct sunlight I'll put up with it for the better contrast.

If you think WebOS is the best OS on the market then there probably isn't much benefit of further discussion. You have your opinion, though it runs counter to the populace that avoided the Palm Pre in large numbers.

No one here is going to change your mind even when the iPhone 4gen demolishes the Incredible & EVO.

Have you even used the WebOS on the Pre? The Pre hardware is inferior but WebOS is superior to any other Mobile OS.

No, I'm happy with my iPhone. Even if the Incredible proves to be better in some way, that doesn't change my current happiness.

Love the notification but not really a fan of the card metaphor for switching. The Pre needed beefier apps as well.

I think WebOS is glitzy but in the end the silly keyboard and lack of depth to WebOS sunk it.

I'm fairly happy with iPhone OS 3.x but it did need the multitasking and other stuff. I think 4.0 pretty much closes any gap. I wish HP luck. Palm is a brand I don't want to see go away.

I'm quite tempted but not sure if that's the right decision. I wanted to evaluate things in real details before making decision. I started a thread to gather more comparison information between Android and iPhone just to do that. Love to see more of you participating there.

Can we stop posting NON-apple products on an Apple Iphone forum with the question....

Are you gonna get the "BLAH BLAH XXXX" instead?

I definitely did not get the similiar experience you had with the pre. I used my friends pre and a demo in a sprint store. It felt laggy, but only on some areas. The web browser definitely is choppy and laggy. It kind of takes away the ease of use. The iPhones ease of use is far supperior in my opinion, smooth as butter compare to the web os.

I'm not going to even front, I really like they're idea of the multitasking system they've used. Cards I feel couldn't have been any better for multitasking.

I didn't like the cards because i'm not a heavy thumb user. I'm more of an index finger guy and I find that the more cards you have the amount of shuffling around is cumulative. I think Apple got it right with iPhone OS 4.0. Double tap the home button, up pops a list of the most recent apps in statis single tap generally will engage the next app or a swipe and then tap. At most generally just 3 steps.

I've seen reviews where the review gushed about the Pre while it was totally blowing the gestures or double tapping in the browser and the zoom was off. It was probably an earlier review but in all honesty Palm shipped a pretty clunky system but then again I wasn't using an iPhone for its initial launch so I'm perhaps judging unfairly.

I think a lot of phone vendors have oversold multitasking. Phones do not do window management and thus they are inherently inferior to a desktop OS that has more storage, processing power and it designed for multitasking grunt.

Every iPhone user knows the tricks of the trade. I know I can open the mail app and then immediately close it and it'll pull my messages down anyways. I know I can do the same with Tweetie or other apps. iPhone OS 4.0 has brought Task Completion out as a feature but honestly I think it's already there today as perhaps a private framework that Apple uses.

What is going to make the difference with Apple vs RIM, Microsoft, Android and HP/Palm is going to be the software. Apple has thrown the gauntlet down by showing Flash the door. Crap software need not apply. There are a lot of crap apps on the App Store but the ones that rise to the top are pretty damn sweet

That's why I said the hardware is inferior. You need to try the Pre when it's OC'd then you will know why. Multitasking on the Pre can't be beat. New iPhone 4th G is more like fast switching more than multitasking.

No, I think I'm too invested in the iPhone platform. Considering it has several features that make it useful for me as a deaf user (I should clarify to say only nearly completely deaf with hearing aid out. With it in, I function fairly well but I digress.), I wouldn't want to switch to something else until I knew it had something essential like CC support, mono audio option, and I'm sure there's others but those are the only ones I can think of at the moment. Plus, there's so many apps that I've come to love whether they're for fun or to get something done.

If this upcoming iPhone does offer video chat which sounds very likely, it's also another reason for me to stick with it as I'd be able to lip-read and hear at the same time. I pick up so much more that way, provided I can concentrate though. I just figured I'd throw in another perspective of why I wouldn't switch.

Multitasking is really the only thing WebOS has going for it. The rest of the experience is so-so at best. A lack of ap development and the glitches ruins it for me. You would think that a former-Apple exec in Rubenstein would know how to come out of the gate flying with a competing product instead of one that takes years to bring current given that Apple laid the foundation for the current market.

As far as calling everyone fanboys, you are posting on an Apple forum trying to convince people WebOS is better than the iPhone. Been there, done that. The Pre has fallen flat on its face.

WebOS it's still new and has a lot of potential. How long did it take Iphone to get multitasking? What glitches that ruined it for you? Like what? (stop googling for people glitches) I bet you have never used WebOS! When did I call EVERYONE fanboys? I have read some of your comments on other forums and it's VERY ignorance.

Phone multitasking is a geeks wet dream. Consumers don't really care beyond wanting to listen to Pandora while doing other things. What makes the iPhone stick with people is the mundane stuff like dealing with task management and easy updates. Even Android has an over reliance on web tools (naturally because of google).

Apple has set the bar high with 4.0. I still think they are working on a totally new notification system and native printing will come when it's ready.

Consumers don't care about multitasking because they just want an apple. How can any real smart phone users can claim that they don't care about multitasking? You are not a real smart phone user if you say you don't care.

Like what?

I take it English is not your first language? I am not sure what other "forums" you are talking about. If you are talking about other threads, then you should re-read the conversations because ignorance is what your posts are about in this thread that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic. WebOS and the Droid Incredible have absolutely nothing in common with one another. Please go troll in a Palm forum.

Please take a pill. Don't get mad because I pointed out your ignorance. Yes, I'm a troll because I think WebOS is the best OS for mobile.
