I just stopped by the local verizon store to try it out. Sorry if this offends some, but what a piece of ****! This absolutely confirms to me that there's a difference between user experience and spec sheets. The iPhone simply bests it in polish and ease of use, even with older hardware. Android just feels kind of thrown together without the obsessive attention to detail that makes he iPhone the icon it is.

The Incredible may technically do more things, but the iPhone seems infinitely more useful to me because what it does do, it seems to do much better.

Have you even used the WebOS on the Pre? The Pre hardware is inferior but WebOS is superior to any other Mobile OS.

I wouldn't say it is superior to all other OSes, but it is very nice indeed. The Pre hardware leaves a lot to be desired.

I tried the Droid a month or so back, and again a few weeks ago. I agree; not put together real well...and it felt unpolished. Like, quick get it out, we'll fix it later. I felt that with a couple of the Droid phones there...

Please take a pill. Don't get mad because I pointed out your ignorance. Yes, I'm a troll because I think WebOS is the best OS for mobile.

at least you admitted your mistake on this post.

So what is your damn point? I posted a very similar response in another thread about the EVO and I thought he was quoting that one. And yes, I was man enough to step up and admit I was wrong.

The 50+ million iPhone/iPod Touch users say differently on your opinion about WebOS. I like the concept but it is poorly executed and the crappy hardware cripples the experience. You have no other evidence other than assumption that WebOS would be the best on another piece of hardware. Well, look at the Pixi. It doesn't excel there either.

I think Palm just threw WebOS out there to bait some poor company (HP) into buying a dying breed. You are certainly entitled to your opinion but I find it funny when you come onto a Mac forum and shove WebOS down people's throats then call them fanboys for not agreeing with you. Again, go troll somewhere else.

Thanks, you just confirmed what i said. I'll just stop from here.

+1

The Droids and other Android phones present an initial "ooooohh" reaction because people moving into their first smartphone don't know what they want. If you're used to an iPhone and then you go hop and an Android the glitz isn't captivating because you know what you like and dislike about navigating a phone.

I'm not saying that there aren't iPhone to Android converts but rather saying that Apple's focus is on native apps and to that end they focus on improving their API to leverage the native address book, calendar, web tools.

And iPhone and Mobileme sync is absolute bliss and will only get better.

I don't know about that. I just stopped by a Verizon store and was very impressed with the Incredible. I think that it is a great phone and will sell very well. YMMV.

Is there any way to move this thread to another forum? Such as an Android forum on another website possibly? You guys can all have fun over there and drool over this phone along with hundreds more people. Why are you doing it here?

Not the Droid Incredible...

but the Evo from Sprint.

WiFi HotSpot for only $10 on top of a Simply Everything plan is SWEET!!!:D

Fedex delivered mine today and I love it. Android kicks the iPhone OS's ass, and the great specs of the phone don't hurt either ;)

I was about to buy an iPhone, but I really rather like the HTC Desire. Looks nicer than the Incridible and the only difference is that the camera is 5mp instead of 8mp. And that really doesn't bother me.

industry professionals and professional reviewers are giving it rave reviews and the highest ratings as far as android phones go, ill take their opinions into consideration over yours.

Defensive much? Just because other people don't agree with me doesn't mean I can't/shouldn't post my opinion either. And it looks like at least some other people on here agree with me.

And yes, many people are calling it the best Android phone, but most aren't calling it the best smartphone.

You can take their opinion anyway you want but throwing out industry pros and pro reviewers doesn't invalidate Mike's statement. You've just made a logical fallacy "appeal to authority".

Opinions don't have to supported with facts so neither you nor Mike is wrong or right in this matter.

Im just not a big fan of android. Been carrying around a nexus 1 around with my iPhone for a few months. Almost every application on the Android looks bad. The calendar, contacts, phone app, all look like the belong on a windows 95 machine. They just aren't pretty like their iPhone counterparts.

In addition, third party apps that are available for both the iPhone and Android are far better on the iPhone. Things just look far better on the iPhone.

One more thing, while the incredible has a very high resolution scree, its too narrow in portrait mode. This makes typing almost impossible without switching to landscape.

To answer your question directly, the answer is yes (e.g. I am thinking about it). The sad thing is it is only for the tethering capability (e.g. Mobile Broadband Connect feature).

It sounds like sprint (e.g. Droid EVO) is going to charge some extra dollars (e.g. hopefully $15 which sounds reasonable) for the option, but it seems to be only for 4G which is limited coverage.

Verizon (e.g. Droid Incredible) is sounding like it is opening up tethering for free based on Palm Pre offer (e.g. still researching that offer) and I assume it is based on 3G coverage which is larger area than Sprints 4G offer.

What does ATT (e.g. IPhone) offer, nothing that I know of (e.g. please let me know if that is an untrue statement, I am hoping big time that I am wrong).

Matter of fact when Steve Jobs (e.g. not sure who is calling the shots Apple or ATT) was asked about tethering between IPhone and IPad the answer was absolutely not from what I remember. Guess they want us to pay $30 bucks for your laptop, $30 bucks for your iphone, $30 bucks for your ipad + any home broadband charges. E.G. getting expensive quick!!!!

Are you sure this offer carries over to the incredible? I have seen no proof of that.

Sorry to disappoint, but I heard that Verizon tethering is going to cost $15 to $30 depending on data usage. Pretty crappy in my opinion since as you said, they already offer it on some phones, and plus Spring is going to be throwing it in with the EVO. Oh well, root appeals to me for that reason.
