[Merged] iPhone 4 pre-order only available in black / not available in white

That would be me. I'm pretty decided on getting the 4, but I don't need it in a week. I can wait to see how well it works for all the features. I'm mainly interested in the battery and antennas.
thats how i feel...something about the new white iphone has the same classic look as the original Ipod, something im interested in.
I agree with all your points. Since I'll be waiting for the White iPhone, this will give me a chance to go to an Apple Store and try it out before I make a blind purchase (original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPad)
Why worry about the color - once you put a case on it, it doesn't matter....I'm just happy about the relatively cheap upgrade from my 3GS. Having the HD video and camera flash is more important to me than waiting for the right color.

i dont even need to try it out, selling my 3GS for more than the cost to upgrade FTW. Only thing is i can't stand the black phone with the smudges.
wow that's such ********...and good thing I signed up for the pre-order notification email..that was really ****ing helpful...Apple sucks lately..I'm pissed, I was so excited for the white on the 24th, an I've been using a p.o.s phone since my 3gs broke and I cant take it anymore! eff you steve jobs..

you are aware unlike the 3GS this phone's entire front face is either white or black?
I'm not going to go through the torment of ordering like others have with server issues. I wanted white but like black also. Bottom line is i want a better performing phone so really the color doesn't matter to me. I'm going to wait out today and see if there is an estimated date on the white phone, if it's too late in the summer, i'll order the black in person at the AT&T store.
im right there with you!! i want the white one!! i have been set on the white one since the leaked white pictures first came out! I can wait for them the launch the white one! if its gonna be a significant amount of time for them to bring it out..i will prolly just break down and get the black one!
It's kind of a shame. I would really prefer to have the white model but I've already sold my 3GS and the idea of going ANOTHER two weeks without my smartphone fix gives me the screaming heebie jeebies. Decisions.
according to AT&T, apparently later this summer. last time AT&T said late summer, we got MMS after sept 20th (early fall). although I do hope Apple acknowledges the delay and gives us an ETA later today.
you have 30 days to return your iPhone without a restocking fee or harm to your account with both AT&T and Apple Stores.
I have not seen anyone put the white iPhone above family yet, but I can think of a few family members I would trade.

One would assume that the Supply / Demand will be really really tight for the first couple of months of roll out, and although i love the iPhone in White (I have a 3GS) it's certainly a less popular model compared to the black one. So I'm guessing that while they are that tight on demand, they want to prioritise getting one product on the market in good availability rather than constrain supplies of both colours.
