As an android fan. I feel bad for iPhone 4 users.

I don't feel bad that the phone was released with a glitch (its funny, and it does happen)... but that SJ is jerking you guys around.

This is one situation where you guys should man-up and vote with your dollar. Why not return your iPhone4 and use your 3GS until they fix the issue once and for all?

There's nothing wrong with the 3Gs, so why not?

Don't feel bad for us. Feel bad for yourself, Android...god help you.;)

Tell them about the $11 I just saved yesterday at Best Buy by using the RedLaser app.

Was going to buy a microwave at target for my new apartment. Scanned the UPC with my redlaser app and saw walmart down the street had it for 30 bucks cheaper.

I love my iPhone.

Hey, stuff happens. Its not unheard of for new models to have glitches.

However, if an Android phone comes out with a glitch (Samsung's slow GPS acquisition, etc), then there are about a dozen other phones by 3 or 4 other manufacturers to choose from. Vote with your dollar.

I guess its hard for me to understand why iphone4 owners feel obligated to patronize a company that is knowingly selling you faulty goods at full price.

Why not use a 3GS until next year? Nothing wrong with the 3GS, right?

My iPhone 4 does drop signal, but the Uk has a good network, unlike the US :p so i don't drop right off.

My friends do say it, and i join in, i don't care, i still love the phone.

For the past few days i've encountered alot of people who have made jokes of my iPhone 4. "My phone dropped calls, I thought I had an iPhone 4 in my hand! lol!"
Not only did it happen once, but almost every time I show my iPhone 4 now. Less people are taking the phone seriously.
This kind of negative publicity may have a serious effect on the long term mind thought of Apple phones. Maybe the computers, iPads and iPods have a strong loyal base, but the iPhone is now the most important revenue driver and "halo" device from Apple.
Apple needs to make sure the iPhone 5 is nothing less than amazing. Seriously this time.
Seems to me you have more issues than the iPhone 4. Not really sure what you expected out of a post such as this but it looks like you're getting exactly what I think you should.

iPhone 4 Revision by September 30 ?

I've been waiting to see the white phone before I order an iPhone 4. Now I'm thinking about waiting until September 30 - (when free Bumpers will be revisted) - to see if Apple releases a revision.

Anyone else waiting that long?

you should really wait until June 23, 2011. they say apple will have the problem fixed 100%. just 11 more months bro!

Perhaps I can suggest to you an alternate form of thought...

It's no coincidence that wealth usually goes hand in hand with your ability to handle your finances. There is a reason the wealthiest people on the planet stay wealthy. Hint: they don't waste money. As the ancient chinese saying goes... "One can always make money. It's one's ability to hold on to it that counts".

Or as the common sense proverb goes; "A fool and his money are soon parted". I agree completely with the resale value concern, speaking as one who managed to sell his 17" MacBook Pro for more than I paid for it :D

has anyone even given the possibility that the network has upgraded the reception in their area?

When I first got my iPhone on O2 I couldn't get a 3G signal in my house and downstairs I would frequently get no service/looking for service.

Then all of a sudden one day I got full bars 3G.

Sure... that's a possibility. But that doesn't explain why his phone is not shorting when the two antennas are bridged with metal anymore. There are lot's of videos on youtube demonstrating the problem by bridging the antennas with conductive metals. Why is his new phone not having problems when a piece of conductive metal is placed on the phone? This has nothing to do with reception strength and everything to do with short circuiting/merging the two antenna's RF frequencies by bridging the two antennas with something conductive(like metal, or human skin due to water).

The only likely solution is that the new phones may be coated with something that prevents the two antennas from conducting when bridged by conductive materials. Or, the video is a lie and he's using a non-conductive "exotic metal" screw driver in the second video.

I got my iP4 on launch day. And I can't get it to "short" with a piece of metal.

That's actually great news. Why don't you make a video and show us? Lay the phone side ways like he does and place a piece of metal on top of "the spot" and try to access the internet.

It may actually help us narrow down some things... perhaps certain phones coming out of certain factories are worse.

You know I would seriously do that but I haven't got a video camera.

I am. I think the Sep 30 date corresponds to a scheduled release of a new batch of newly-engineered iPhone 4s. My guess is, they'll have installed and tested some internal shield or insulator placed in the vicinity of the weak area at the lower left of the phone (antenna), or re-engineered the phone itself to have made the bumper and signal loss issue moot by then.

They'll probably have pulled their heads out of their asses with the white phones by then as well. :p

I get how people get fooled or think there will be a "rivision" of the iPhone 4 after Sept 30 but MANY people forget that Apple choose that date cause it was the end of Q3 and they can't offer free cases forever

No. Making any hardware revision to the iPhone 4 would be tantamount to admitting there's a hardware problem with all iPhone 4's. It would be bad publicity and would leave a bad taste in the mouths of everyone who has already bought one.
