Am I the only one who suddenly broke into song? "People all over the world, join hands, start a hope train, hope train."

I know the original song is love, but I prefer to make a song my own.

Those of us that have been "processing" since June 9th aren't singing anything but the blues.

Usually mass shipments from China to the US are bundled in a crate under the same service: express. This is to expedite the freight. Tracking numbers for the phones in the crate are then linked. Then the items in the crate are sorted and applied with a new title: next day air (in our case anyway)

Uh the individual Apple.com orders didn't ship Freight. Hence why you were able to track from China.

The AT&T Store orders were shipped Freight and just tonight they started breaking open those and scanning each individual tracking number. That is why AT&T store orders didn't have working tracking numbers for the first day (Yet they had the number). Now they are working since the freight packages are in the US.. They broke them down and started scanning individual boxes that already were prelabeled with UPS numbers and our names to ship to stores.

If you guys want the same level of detail of your shipment that boxoh.com gives you on your iPhone (which is more than UPS at times), get "Package Tracker Lite" on the App Store. It's FREE.

No they were bundled. We were getting batch scans. Unless they scanned every package in the same minute.

We were getting NO scans. Unless your tracking has been working from China?

Because if you look at the tracking number now (which should now work) it is on Next Day Air which is a domestic only shipping.

Then again I think your terms may be different then mine and we may be saying the same thing :p

Ups Update

Ok so now UPS is giving me a release date again of 6/17/09, BUT I see this message...

"LOUISVILLE,
KY, US 06/17/2009 2:06 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
06/17/2009 2:04 A.M. THE RECEIVER REQUESTED A HOLD FOR A FUTURE DELIVERY DATE. UPS WILL ATTEMPT DELIVERY ON DATE REQUESTED"

I hope this doesn't mean they're going to hold it till Friday..

I'm in D.C. FYI

I ordered on the 10th and mine still says prepared for shipment, i still don't see how some people that ordered later than me already have tracking numbers etc. I really hope i get my iphone Friday.

Flights out of KY

UPS Flight 896 en route to Denver...
UPS Flight 1306 en route to Hartsfield-Jackson
UPS Flight 942 en route to Oakland

We're on the same boat, but let hop on the "hope train". =)

this thread is unreal, we have been tracking 747's from China, to severe weather reports in the heartland... I would not be surprised if we get tanker updates from the fuel company that provides petrol to both UPS and FedEx for use in the delivery trucks! ;)

When you get people crazed about technology that want a gadget; they will use said technology to FIND said gadget.

So I have a sincere question. What happens when we get these iPhones early and we try to activate them and it's a no go?

Could that happen?

My phone could (although I doubt it) be on either flight 942 to Oakland or flight 896 to Denver, considering I'm from Seattle and they are both on that path.

I actually think it's more likely Oakland. We'll see in a few hours I guess.

I'm headed to bed.
