Why are they using a flashlight for lighting, like they just broke into a store or something?

First unboxing I've seen where the device was pre-smudged too. Looks like they played with it for about an hour before deciding to make an "unboxing" video.

Haha, the break in thought popped into my head immediately too!

Yeah, too bad it wasn't better filmed...

Although, the box does look veryyy small.
What'd they say, 30% smaller?

Mine is still in China, still says expected delivery on June 22nd, and according to flightaware.com, no flights from Hong Kong to AK are happening the rest of today or tomorrow.

I'm starting to believe it might not come on Friday. Apple.com order BTW

yeah you're telling me I pre order on the 12th, yet nothing.
Fuggin BS.
:mad::apple:

Sorry, but what did you really expect? That AT&T would have & ship stock *before* the manufacturer? That AT&T's forte is sales & distribution? Phone sales are completely incidental to their main business, which is providing wireless service. Meanwhile Apple sales have been almost exclusively orders over the internet or phone for most of its lifetime, and Apple corporate stores are just a small part of their business.

In order of reliability, here's how to get an iPhone on the 19th:
1) Order from Apple for in-store reservation.
2) Order from Apple for home delivery.
3) Camp out at a store on Thursday night.
4) Trust a homeless crack whore with $200 to wait in line and buy a non-reserved phone for you on Friday morning.
5) Deal with AT&T in any way.

And did you see all of the smudges on that thing. He must have taken a few takes to get the unboxing just right.

They might not be officially part of the United States and get the benefits that go along with it....but on the other side they are the first to get iphones. Fair enough.

noticed the thing about the no flights scheduled too.

sucks if they didn't get on this mornings flight..
try going to boxoh.com , they seem to have the most up-to-date info your package.

My order status is "Prepared for Shipping"
Ships: Jun 19
Delivers: Jun 22

It's a white 16GB iPhone 3GS pre-ordered for delivery from Apple.

Anyone in the same boat as me?

m

I am in the same boat as you...except mine is black. I ordered at 12:48 PM PDT on June 8.

I am in Connecticut BTW.

I was extremely irritated a few days ago, but at this point I'm just tired of this whole debacle. Apple has left zero leeway for the people who ordered earliest. Slightest thing goes wrong and we dont get them until next week. Really fair - it should be the other way around - the people who ordered the latest should have them shipped last. But what are we going to do? There is no alternative to an iPhone and Apple knows it. So they dont care if we dont get them on the 19th like they promised.

I still kind of wonder if Apple screwed up the earliest orders after the keynote. It would explain why, as a group, we have still not received our tracking numbers, while virtually everyone else have. It would also explain the incorrect order status delivery and shipping dates.

Apple is going to be busy enough on Friday as it is...I really dont want to spend the day on the phone with them complaining about how they blew my order - one of the first ones made - while they had no problems filling orders made over a week after mine. So hopefully all is as they claim and we will get them on Friday. We will see.

as little as next day - go to ups.com and calculate shipping time. put in a chinese postal code (use google) and yours and it'll show various options. next day is a very distinct possibility. and apple is using the "world ease" service which is meant to expedite the customs process.

Thanks for the reply but UPS site says 'this request need special assistance, contact xxx' :(

So, I guess everyones telling everyone bout their unsuccessful shipment..

bummer

well not as of yet still got 2 more days, just was hoping to get a tracking number at the least or shipment at the door, but neither of that ish happened.
SO I guess I'll play the stupid waiting game.

Billing Information Received

Does anybody still have UPS status, "Billing Information Received"? A coworker ordered from the same ATT store, same day, same time, and their tracking says it departed Dallas at 1:30pm today.

My phone is back in Alaska according the the tracking info (although it has been unreliable at best). Lost the Louisville arrival about an hour ago.

Yup, same thing happened to mine. Mine had two of the "hold requested by receiver" messages this morning in Kentucky that disappeared this afternoon and now it just shows it arrived in Alaska yesterday.

i am pretty sure there aren't any more UPS flights coming out of Hong Kong (or any surrounding area) to Anchorage, let alone KY.

things aren't looking to well...

note: 8 minutes until landing!
