My problem with this system is that before they said delivery "by" June 19. Now this means that you will have it before June 19th. There is a world of difference in those two words. If I have it tomorrow, then I can go to the AT&T store early on the 19th and get it activated. I figure I'll have to do that as I'm changing carriers.
Now if I get it "on" June 19th, hopefully around 10:30 to 12:00 I'll be way back in line by the time I get to the AT&T store. I'm having the phone shipped to where I work for safety reasons, and I scheduled a day off so I could get to the store early. Now I'll have to go to work and wait until it is delivered (whenever that may be, as normal UPS does not deliver there until after 2:00 PM) then drive about 25 miles to the store. It really puts a crimp in my schedule.
Since the phone cannot be used until it is activated there is no rhyme or reason for this hold up, actually they are making things harder all the way around as now they have to get all deliveries done in a short amount of time which seems to me to be impossible. The system looks like it is going to breakdown seriously, and a lot of people are going to be very unhappy.

Dude. I understand the emotion, but this is getting like pharmaceutical. iPhone 3G S is launched on June 19th. June 19th is the soonest anyone should expect to get it.
