Please explain how AT&T, Apple & UPS are screwing with people when from the moment the phone was announced Phil said AVAILABLE JUNE 19th???? Did you honestly believe that you were somehow the chosen one and you'd get yours early because you said your prayers and ate your veggies ?

Come on people it is a release date that Apple set and Apple will make sure people don't break those date.

Yep, it goes from Shenzhen to Chek Lap Kok (Hong Kong Int'l Airport). From there it will likely go on tomorrows UPS Flight 63 to Louisville via Anchorage that leaves at about 7:00 a.m. Central time and arrives at midnight. That is going to be close on the timing.

I hope everyone's UPS delivery hub gets a direct flight from Louisville. I'm glad mine is on today's flight since it has to go from Louisville, KY to Memphis, TN to Jackson, MS and then by truck to Meridian, MS for delivery.

I was thinking that too, but now that it's back on hold, I'm thinking it might fly out tomorrow night.

I'm now thinking that Apple/UPS are worried about losing control of the shipments if they distribute them to hubs tonight. People will try to pick up their packages, and at least some of them would be successful, due to mistakes, miscommunications, incompetence, collusion, apathy, etc... At the UPS Worldport, they are pretty much safe and secure.

I like many have been following this thread, so I apologize if this has been brought up in the past 100+pages...

UPS wrote the book on logistics, and shipping. In fact I worked for a food distributer back in the early 90's who used their software (at the tune of 100k+) for shipping/routing.

I find it amusing that many are complaining about something that has not actually arrived, based on a system they know nothing about.

UPS, I do believe knows exactly what they are doing; additionally I find it hard to believe we can re-write their thinking/tracking/routing reasoning because we want to learn their many years of perfection in 3 days.

Point is, I believe (even though my phone says prepared for shipment) will indeed arrive on Friday, and on time.

How they do it, no idea- but it is why they do what they do, and charge what they charge.

So tracking, guessing, questioning, bitching is all good and fun...but I would put money on UPS for taking care of business on Friday.

Word is that the early orders; i.e., the ones taken just after the Keynote ship from the US via FedEx. I ordered a few hours after myself and still in "prepared for shipment" status. Order status will change sometime tomorrow.

As you see w/ the tracking here, it really doesn't matter when your package ships since all deliveries will arrive same day...Friday.

I don't know if you mean orders from Apple.com or ATT.com but I ordered right after the Keynote on June 8 and my 32 GB iPhone 3G S is sitting in the UPS Worldport in KY as I type this post. My unit came from China via good old UPS 063. :D

So Let me get this straight, my phone won't be at my local hub until early Friday? If the plane left Shenzhen at 12:50 AM on the 18th, that was 12:50pm EST today, which has already happened, um, about 10 hours ago. Why has it not updated since then?

somewhere in china some underpaid worker is sweating in a hot and humid factory, putting all these phones into boxes for shipment to be flown to and from airport to airport, to finally land on my doorstep
