I'm aware.. nonetheless, I'd feel better if the package was at least sitting at my local hub instead of Nowhere, KY.

I'm thinking that Apple have a contract with UPS to deliver on Friday not before. UPS knows if they hold them in KY, none will get through by mistake. UPS knows it's capacity, so they know when they have to push them out to the hubs, so they will hold them in KY until all trucks for Thursday are all ready on the road. Then they'll push them out to local hubs with plenty of time to deliver on Friday.

I have been tailing this thread ever since people started getting their tracking numbers. It made me feel better to see that others also had 'Prepared for Shipment' as their status, especially PA folks... I ordered on 6/9 from Apple and have been in 'Prepared for Shipment' status since Sunday.

This morning I saw a post from someone feeling relieved that the money for one of the phones that he/she ordered has cleared. I took a look at my bank account and see that the transaction is no longer pending... Instead, it has been returned to my balance and the Apple.com transaction is nowhere to be found!

My status is still 'Prepared for Shipment'. Has anyone else had this happen?

Exactly same here...status and credit hold removed from my acct... also in PA. Called Apple on Tuesday a.m. and they told me everything was green for Friday delivery and no movement since and no word from Apple. Argh.

Me too.

Also, my ATT account shows that my contract will expire on 6/14/2011. This means Apple went through the process of updating my ATT account with a new iPhone 3GS on 6/14/2009. But where is the tracking number?????

Where do you see the contract extension? Looking at my wireless.att.com account, but don't see any dates.

Mine has been "prepared for shipment" for nearly 2 days now and nothing has been charged to my credit card yet. Hopefully soon! :)

For others who's tracking info switched to the incorrect state (still correct city name)...

I called UPS this AM because my tracking info switched yesterday from Alexandria, KY (correct) to Alexandria, OH (incorrect). I saw a few others post that they had the same thing happen. The information I received was questionable. She first read off "delivery to Alexandria, OH 41001" and I said that it was the correct zip but that it wasn't OH, but KY. She then reported that it was corrected when it entered the US and would be delivered to KY. I informed her that it was the opposite. It showed KY when it was in CN and HK, but switched to OH when it arrived in Anchorage. She then stated that they would deliver based on zip code. This is what I would have hoped anyway, but the incorrect state listing still had me concerned.

At this point she said something that I really didn't like. She basically said that there wasn't any way for the state to be corrected on the box or to track it down and have someone correct it manually. The process is that it would have to be delivered to the incorrect address and fail before they can make any sort of change. That's brilliant! The customer let's us know it's wrong. We can confirm that it's wrong, but we must fail at least once before we'll do anything about it. Great!

Guess that means if it does go to OH, I'll have to call them Friday afternoon and have it delivered on Monday (unless I go medieval on them and demand a Saturday delivery due to their screw up).

The good news for everyone else with UPS deliveries. From the sounds of it, these are all shipped with "by 10:30am" deliveries. This is good considering our UPS guy usually rolls up about 5:00pm most of the time.

For those who also have this scenario I would be interested in comments if you've also called in. If you haven't but want to, the number for International shipments is: 1-800-782-7892.

I ordered mine yesterday, Wednesday June 17, through the Apple store online, and the status says it will ship in 2-4 business days, with delivery between June 20 -26. Interestingly, however, my credit card was charged today for the full amount. Apple's status still says "Not yet shipped." I think its going to change very soon, given that they've already been paid.

I like many have been following this thread, so I apologize if this has been brought up in the past 100+pages...

UPS wrote the book on logistics, and shipping. In fact I worked for a food distributer back in the early 90's who used their software (at the tune of 100k+) for shipping/routing.

I find it amusing that many are complaining about something that has not actually arrived, based on a system they know nothing about.

UPS, I do believe knows exactly what they are doing; additionally I find it hard to believe we can re-write their thinking/tracking/routing reasoning because we want to learn their many years of perfection in 3 days.

Point is, I believe (even though my phone says prepared for shipment) will indeed arrive on Friday, and on time.

How they do it, no idea- but it is why they do what they do, and charge what they charge.

So tracking, guessing, questioning, bitching is all good and fun...but I would put money on UPS for taking care of business on Friday.

+1. UPS knows EXACTLY what's in their possession, where it is, where it's going, how many planes, trucks, people, storage space they have, when it needs to move from point A to point B etc. Let them do what they do. We've known it would be released on Friday the whole time.

Literally 30 minutes from my front door!

Just got this notice. My iPhone is at my local sort facility. I am strangely giddy :D

Though I think the time it left Indiana and the time it arrived in PA are a little close?

Still no tracking number here. My order thru Apple still says "Ready for Shipment". Which means if its still at that status today, that i won't see it tomorrow. I'm really annoyed at how this has all played out.

The last update on my tracking was yesterday at 1:50pm as the Anchorage arrival scan. As we all know, UPS63 took off and landed in Louisville at 1:53am. Should I be worried that my package might be lost or something??

Who should I call/contact? I'm being shipped worldwide express with ease and no expected delivery date.

Have you never had overnight shipping before? If you ordered directly from Apple, you'll probably get a tracking number this afternoon and still get it tomorrow.

Contract with ATT expanded

Where do you see the contract extension? Looking at my wireless.att.com account, but don't see any dates.

Go to the "My Profile" tab, then "User Information". You should see the "Contract Information" underneath "Login information.

Mine is showing this as well.

Although I have no doubt it will be delivered on time tomorrow morning, I'm kind of wishing it would update so I could play the tracking game with everybody else....

Overnight, sure i've had it. But I seriously doubt that Apple would pay that much to have their products delivered. From a business standpoint it doesn't make sense.

Apple is shipping the iPhone 3GS "priority" which is indeed overnight shipping. Login to your account and check. I ordered it standard and then it was automatically change to priority.

No info change as of yet i was hoping to wake up this morning to a shipment notification. LIke everyone else on here my payment to apple has now been returned, i see this in a good and bad way if by tonight i dont see it shipping i'll go down to either a att store one of the 3 best buy stores or the three apple stores around me and i'll just stand in line around 4am maybe 5am and then cancel my order and return the iphone back to apple with a big ass middle finger.... I still want my iphone i'm not sure if over night delivery straight from china is even possible right now

Since it's being shipped with ease, I wonder if some lazy worker in Anchorage decided not to scan a bunch of packages (since ease just requires a few barcodes to be scanned)

UPDATE: Just got a shipment email (7:26 AM EST) with a Federal Express tracking number. Ship date: Today... Delivery: 6/19.

Looks like it is coming out of Texas... glad I won't be a part of the thread on Chinese quality control in a few weeks ;) j/k!

It says priority. So unless its flying directly from China right this instant, it ain't arriving tomorrow. Priority or no priority.
