I'm sure we'll hear a few stories about people who work at ATT stores or Apple stores or who "have a buddy" or clueless ATT store staff who let one go early. That's actually the only reason I'm still following this thread.
 
Ordered mine on the 13th from apple online, now its stuck in alaska with Sarah Palin. I'm getting concerned.:confused:

So sometime today I should get a tracking number according to her, and I shouldn't worry cause it will be here tomorrow. Today mine finally comes out of the "prepared for shipment" status.

My i850 nextel phone is on its last charge!!!

Just got off the phone with them, you should be fine. I ordered mine an hour after the keynote and I was told I would get it tomorrow

Ordered from Apple on the 8th. Still at "prepared for shipping". Not worried at all, zero calls to Apple/AT&T/UPS/FedEx.

Two 32GB Blacks on order. The one I ordered on the 9th just shipped, yet the one I ordered on the 8th still hasn't shipped. :/ I know that I'll get it tomorrow but I'd like it to be shipped soon.
 
Im not sure if this has been adressed in here or not but if I had someone else on my family plan upgrade, would I update the new iPhone on iTunes as their number and then call AT&T to switch lines, or call AT&T first? What's the best way to do this?
 
ordered 2 phones on the 10th. i am in tulsa.
one was just shipped out of TN via fedex.
the other is still prepared.

i have a feeling that there is a pile of phones in TN and they sending them out as fast as they can this AM.
 
Finally shipped! :D FedEx Overnight, probably from within the U.S.

Just switch the sim cards.

I ordered from Apple for the phone to be shipped but I got this email last night:

I got an email saying:

Thanks for starting your iPhone purchase online. To finish the process, come to your nearest Apple Retail Store and look for a Concierge in an orange shirt. We'll help you complete your purchase, activate your new iPhone, and set it up for you. Find a store
Make sure to bring these items with you:

A valid, government-issued photo ID

A debit or credit card

Even though it should be shipped to me by tomorrow! What gives?

I called Apple and they said it will be delivered tomorrow, even though the online order status still says, 'prepared for shipment'

I pre-ordered through an ATT store last week. I called my salesman yesterday.

Me: So, I know you guys open at 7am Friday. Should I be there at 7am to make sure I get a phone?

Him: You can be here then if you want, but that phone has your name on it. You can pick it up anytime between Friday and next Thursday.

Me: So it will be there whether I come in at 7am or 3pm.

Him: Correct. It will be right here waiting on you.

Admittedly the ATT store I'm using is in a fairly small town by most standards. I don't expect a line or anything like that. However, its clear that their pre-orders are actual reservations of specific phones. It could be different in other places though.
 
On the horn with AT&T now, this lady says she cant even find my order. Not too worried, she doesn't sound too bright at all.

I have the same question. I want to port from t-mobile and I didn't know about the account number while ordering. Can someone throw some light. Can I port the number after getting the new iphone or is it too late?
 
Finally! Mine just shipped FedEx. I can relax and get work done...you know, until FedEx recognizes my tracking number and I can start watching its progress....
