It looks like my local AT&T Store is getting my iPhone today. Now, I wonder if I can actually pick it up from them before tomorrow. It's a product I've already paid for, so it seems legally, they should have to hand it over to me once they have it in. Anyone want to chime in on this?

Highly unlikely.

The phone is to be released tomorrow. If ATT loses the phone today, does that mean you have to pay for another one to get to you? No you don't. The phone isn't yours until Apple officially releases it tomorrow.

Just got off the phone with them, you should be fine. I ordered mine an hour after the keynote and I was told I would get it tomorrow

I called them and was told the same thing. Sounded like a canned response combined with a twitch of annoyance on their side to me. I commend their patience regardless!

I should stop worrying about something as unimportant to my life as this. I guess I'm getting wrapped up in the excitement :)

I wonder why our phones are taking so long in alaska. Its been there since yesterday.... I live in oklahoma and I want it NOW!!!!:D

I am going to AT&T as soon as it gets there.

Maybe they will let me touch the box!

:D good day!!!

So set up their phone on iTunes and then just switch SIM cards. Is it really that easy? :p

Take your sim card and put in the 3gS, connect it to itunes. Thats it. If you are giving them your old iphone, like i am doing in my situation, then you would need to put their sim card in the phone you are giving them and connect it to itunes as well. You really don't have to call AT&T because they will have you do the same thing.

Often times UPS won't update until it actually gets to the next location. So Alaska to the lower 48 would take a while.

Still no farking tracking number. I seriously hope they dont screw me over!
Anyone else order from AT&T online and not have a tracking number yet?

Same thing brother! Damn Premier service! However, my order doesn't say qty. 1 on back-order anymore. I sure hope it ships today and is delivered tomorrow!?! I had mine set up for overnight delivery. Pretty ****** that I could have just ordered from Apple and not have had to pay any shipping and be guarantteed to get it tomorrow!

Im not sure if this has been adressed in here or not but if I had someone else on my family plan upgrade, would I update the new iPhone on iTunes as their number and then call AT&T to switch lines, or call AT&T first? What's the best way to do this?

My understanding from ATT is that you shouldn't just swap SIM cards. As soon as you get the phone you should call them and give them the IMEI number and they will update your account with that info on the number that you are actually going to use the phone on. Then you go ahead and activate it through iTunes on the correct number.

I think you'll still need to call ATT after the SIM is put into the 3G (not 3GS) because you'll need to have the iPhone Data Plan added to the line getting the 3G.

Anyone else stuck in alaska with me?

I'm pretty sure they're just not going to update the tracking info so as to prevent all the calls that flood Apple and UPS each time people see something come up they don't understand.

Of course those gains will be offset by people calling worried their phone is stuck on some tarmac in Alaska.

My money says it will keep showing this up until the moment it gets delivered.
