sweet, so just follow your instructions in that email and I should be fine??
..oh, and enter those settings bphillips provided?
my UPS tracking just updated and says "Rescheduled Delivery 6/19/2009" so i am happy
For all that are still showing stuck in AK:
Your package WILL NOT be delivered on the 19th. I just got off the phone with UPS International and they informed me Apple has "shipped the package late" [from CN] and with their chosen "3 business day", it will not deliver on the 19th. I'm assuming those other customers who are stuck also had theirs shipped out of CN on the 17th (mine shipped at 12:02am). So, for the lack of TWO minutes, UPS is going to delay delivery until the next business day - which is MONDAY. UPS said the tracking information isn't accurate :/ I told them (in no uncertain terms) that I believed they had the package and were holding it because of the contract. I cannot believe tracking would show a departure from China and an arrival in the U.S. be "inaccurate". Seems like customs would have something to say about that. Anyway, I'm in a rant, as you can tell.
Also, the customer service rep said she knew Apple had sent out letters stating to ignore tracking information and their package would arrive as promised on the 19th. She said, "unfortunately" that is also inaccurate.
For some insane reason, I still believe Apple will manage to get UPS to release the packages (I'm still totally convinced the package isn't just sitting in AK - if it were being held because of contractual reasons, it should be held closer to the delivery point. But, I don't work for UPS and don't know their workings. Logic doesn't always work.)
I sure hope they're wrong and Apple's right - I have someone lined up to buy my 1st gen phone tomorrow - guess the disappointment will snowball a bit.
Oh, and though UPS has had a virtually unblemished delivery record to my home, tonight they logged in a package (Amazonian) as delivered. Except it wasn't and the delivery person never even made it to my front door. I have a motion detecting net cam that would have logged it. Gee, I wonder if the driver saw the release note for tomorrow and got "confused". Usually coincidences aren't.
UPS is on my s**t list tonight! Arrrrgh.![]()
Not a big deal, but I find it odd that AT&T starts the billing cycle when the phone ships; not after you activate it.
"Please note: Your billing with AT&T begins today."
Something interesting...
1. Mine still shows in Alaska, last info was the 1:50 arrival scan on the 17th
2. It just (in the last 5 minutes) changed to In transit - On Time
3. Delivery date which had been missing for days now says 6/19.
Maybe it will show up...
