We are in the exact same boat. Though, my ship date says 6/13. My tracking number gets the same error - and as you said, I agree - I don't care too much about tracking, just knowing that I will indeed get that phone call Friday saying I can come pick it up. Let's hope!
I'm in the NYC area and my status just changed to preparing to ship. Are all iPhones shipping from China or do they have local shipping locations?
lets say your store pre-ordered 500 phones they are going to ship all of them together not one at a time

I'm in exactly the same situation as you and johnny5.
I just spoke with the CSR that sold me the phone. He told me that my phone would be there on the 19th (he was looking specifically at my account when he said that) and that I could pick it up any time that day.
I hope it turns out the same for you guys.
You need to jailbreak your phone to get that case to work as it is not compatible with 3GS.
Still nothing for me as apple.com saying "Not yet shipped" Since I got the upgrade to overnight shipping for free (which I know most everyone did) I am not too worried about it. I don't think I'll see anything on my iphone until the 17th or 18th. I just have a feeling that my iphone isn't going to come from China overnight and that Apple must already have some iphones in the US. That's why I don't think I'll see anything until later this week.
I ordered mine from my local AT&T store on Thursday of last week, and my order status shows "freight" and "shipped" out on 6/13/09 I now have a clickable tracking number, but nothing shows up on the UPS web site still. I am 99.999% sure I will have my new phone on Friday morning...

It matters.
For UPS Ground delivery, they have to load the trucks up by 11 AM I think it is.
And for Air delivery before 10:30 AM, they need to load up by around 7

Yeah but when you call this number: 1-877-782-8870
It says back ordered ... The other number says otherwise.
