There are multiple crates on EACH PLANE that have to be cleared through customs, and each takes a few minutes to a few hours to clear and inspect.
There are like 4 flights from PANC (alaska) to Louisville, so don't worry! It will update! (boxoh.com is faster and more accurate than UPS)

How do we know that the flightaware info is accurate? I'm going to call the FAA to talk to a real person and make sure the plane I think my iphone is on is on schedule.

Haha! No just coincidence. FedEx planes through Anchorage go to Memphis, and if Apple IS holding the phones, then they probably wouldn't be able to handle it.
I have never heard of cross-shipping excpet in emergencies or if the shipper chooses to ship different pallets with different companies...

Also I was wondering what the "Freight" meant in my order summary.

Apple can sometimes take a LONG time to update their store. They did that with the first iPod Touch, it updated about a day after it shipped, and was behind a long time. Its just load, and the complexity of the shipments
Cancelled my ATT premiere upgrade order
I am new to iPhone but a current customer with ATT premiere. I am eligible for an upgrade and I made my order at the ATT premere site on June 11th. Since my order status said backordered, I wanted to talk to ATT to see what is going on.
I talked with 4 ATT reps and all of them told the exact same thing:
"If your order is not back-ordered, we will ship the order on 19th and you should receive it on 22nd or 23rd as FedEx does not do weekends."
I asked them why some people who made the order already at Apple.com received their notifications, I got a similar answer from all 4 of them - "We are AT&T and they are Apple, Sir."
Frustrated, I did the only thing that was possible - cancelled the order. I heard somewhere that it takes 2 days for AT&T to update their system, which means this cancellation should have been updated in all their systems on Friday - when I go into an Apple store to buy the iPhone in person.

I wish I could help, but aside from the order number and phone size my page looks exactly the same as yours.
ATT tracking numbers have been transmitted to UPS. Scheduled to pickup tomorrow and ship next day air saver.
still no alaska for me, I'm refreshing every 30 seconds... man I need a support group... new thread, iPhone3GSAnon....!!!!
Well, it is faster than UPS but does derive from UPS info... because the UPS site doesn't show EACH andEVERY point. But like I said, there are MULTIPLE, MULTIPLE pallets that can fit on that aircraft ( THEY ARE 747s - THEY HOLD A LOT OF CARGO!!!!)
So don't worry. once it clears in AK, it will show
So... the plane is on it's way to KY, but my tracking number never got a "Departure Scan". It still shows "Arrival Scan" in Alaska. Can any of you UPS gurus explain?
