track UPS flight #63 with all those iPhones that were just scanned in anchorage here
flight # 71, which I think is holding iPhones too is here
both are UPS planes coming from China to AK to KY...both arrive in KY w/in 30min of eachother. (Appx. arrival time 1:20AM EST & 10:20PM PST.)

In a little more than four hours, it will be midnight EDT. With my WinXP laptop for my left hand and my MacBook Pro 17 for the other, I can stay up all night checking the status of my iPhone 3G S and the 3.0 update on iTunes for my 3G. I'll bet this thread will still be going strong!
C'mon 3.0 update!!! I wonder how much money Apple will make in the next 72 hours???

Everyone, that confirms it: The iPhone Will NNNNNNOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTT be delivered before. They will probably go to their destinations if it is to be believed they are to be held until the actual day (or they will catch their first flight out in the wee hours of the morning from louisville) and will arrive as scheduled.
I knew it. You will probably see a sticker on the box that says, DO NOT DELIVER UNTIL 6/19/09.

No. It is in the actual database at UPS each time it scans the package....
Some boxes might have Saturday Delivery stickers on them though if (GOD FORBID) they get delayed. Then Apple can push them to get delivered on the weekend if they choose....
UPS would most definitely make concessions to make a company like Apple happy! My understanding is that in the past, FEDEX made most of Apples deliveries, and surely UPS would like to make a retailer like Apple and ATT happy.
Goes like this:
APPLE: If we pay you $40,000,000.00 to deliver our phones, could you hold them at your central processing until Thursday, and send them out next day?
UPS: Sure we can!
Now they may come early, but if Apple wanted them delivered only on Friday, that's when they would be shipped.

Can someone please post a pic of what their current tracking looks like via UPS? Anyone showing the "Departure Scan" from Alaska?
My tracking number is working now. ATT in-store 6/9.
Says billing info has been received and billed/shipped on 6/17. So, hopefully will arrive at the store 6/18, but should make it Friday for sure. I'll be watching for departure scan. Since it says 6/17, I'm assuming this is also coming from China.

Finally, UPS has received the billing information on my iPhone shipment. This is one for AT&T in-store pickup.
Fedex actually does, but only on Overnight Shipments delivered before 10:30 (not the way Apple ships) or on time-critical or couriered packages.
UPS delivers on World Ease packages (UPS ships the iPhones to customers right now) and they are available at extra cost if Apple chooses to do so.
this apparently isn't showing on UPS.com
you should look to boxoh.com or packagemapping.com to see this.
ups doesnt always put each scan into their online tracking
UPS will only deliver on Saturday if the originator requested Saturday delivery option.
