Honestly I think the main reason for no Webcam support is that the Messenger in Windows has the video feature built into the OS. So porting webcam to the Mac would take MS to needing to write the protocols to support compatibility with the Windows APIs and they'd need to write a WMV encoder on the Mac (I think their webcam streams WMV). Also consider that their webcam might do WMV3 - which has been unplayable on a Mac forever (VLC, Mplayer, nor WMP for Mac will play it).
This is a pretty nice update - as I understand getting that corporate thing in there was a feat in itself (a few businesses use the corp network for things I guess).
the pictures also should show up in the chat window like in iChat so i just turn off the picture sidebar btw.
No problems on my end - abite that Messenger won't reconnect after waking my pb, but that doesn't hinder performance.
