Even though I think the Vision Pro won’t be a mainstream hit, it will sell better than the Meta and other VR/AR headsets on the market today. Apple cracked it to deliver what was missing. I really hope they can bring the price down to at least 1,999 in a few years. Apps and content will be key too.

Waiting to see what Valve has up their sleeve for their new VR headset. If it's standalone, base station free, and within $500 of the Quest 3, it will be a compelling option. Apple's headset needs another half decade to cook. Great hardware with no compelling use case other than movies is not worth $3500.

No room scale VR is a gigantic missing feature. What exactly did they crack?

Anyone who has experience with the quest, can you advise if it has the simulated movie theatre watching experience for streaming apps or is it just for gaming and apps?

Good for Zuck, nothing like the free market.

Timmy you are not king of the world...😂

I can imagine that experience: during a TV show a cash register with one’s basket filled with toothpaste appears and the Cashier asks, “Would you like to also buy a toothbrush? Electric ones are on special today.” In horror movies, slashers take on the appearance of Mark Zuckerberg. Fortnight has Tim Sweeney making a pop up with, “Come to epic.com for your games.” Disclaimers that Google will never share your information without your consent.

I have ordered one for the studio. It will be a benefit to clients and our content creation [not much to Meta though as nothing to track.......].

If you imagine Vision Pro won’t be an advertising platform you’re not being realistic about it.

They’re only going to make about 500k of them in the first year. How are they going to outsell Meta with low numbers like that?

I’d rather spend all day and night working a minimum wage job to have enough for the Vision Pro than to sell my data and buy hardware from a company like Meta. Heck I’d buy a product from Amazon or even Google before Meta.

Mark is untrustworthy and he’s stolen land from Hawaiians through lawsuits. He is a terrible person no ty.

It looks like $500......flushed down the toilet
Better than $3500 flushed down the toilet. Seriously, what are you really going to do with the Vision Pro? I watched the presentation and didn't see anything to justify the ridiculous price premium. And why are the users moving so slowly during the presentation? It's as if Vison Pro doesn't have the processing power to recognize normal motion.

I'm not saying I'd rather get the Quest 3. My cousin let me borrow the Quest 2 to try out and it has sat on our dining table for two weeks. I only helped set it up for my wife and daughter to try but I haven't felt compelled to use it myself. Daughter enjoyed one of the games but wife wasn't a fan of the Quest 2. VR headsets don't really fit in my life and Vision Pro hasn't convinced me otherwise. I spent $3000 on a specc'ed out MBP 16, but there's no way I'm shelling out $3500 for some Apple goggles. What exactly is the selling point for Vision Pro? That message is still lost on me.

Folks are very familiar with what an iPhone can do, yet many will forego the upgrade this year. It is not really clear what Vision Pro offers, yet some people are ready to plunk down $3500 to find out. I suspect a high percentage of early adopters will exercise the 14-day return policy.

It's harder to flush $3,500 down the toilet compared to $500. Five $100 bills can be flushed. Thirty-five $100 bills would probably plug the toilet.

These ones look like they are more for gaming they have joysticks. Vision Pro looks more like VR computing you pinch stuff and move stuff using you hands. I'd rather play games than the latter. I don't think Apple is a contender when it comes to games anyway unless they have games on steam.

The Quest is a great piece of hardware that is *now* made by a company I would never, ever, EVER trust enough to buy their hardware.

I'm feeling buzzed from all the buzzwords Meta threw into the advertising. I'd be very suspect of their company pushing out a device like this one for $500...

Well... it's Meta. While I use Facebook and Instagram, I don't plan on giving Zuckerberg any money for their piece of hardware. Also, they purchased Quest years ago, so the R&D was already done for their headset.

For the record, I'm not buying a Vision Pro either, I'll wait for a third generation before I hop into something like that.
