Probably one of a few bands that have tried to push media boundaries in a different way. They've had recording sections in arenas for eventual live performance tape swapping. I think it was possible for many, many years to download an MP3 of any tour stop they did since the late 90s (The napster offence was always about studio recorded music being given away. -Not wanting to side with the poor millionaires, but I get that argument... Control how it is distributed, and give the more obscure artists chances to show the record labels they sell(?). iTunes I'd imagine helped fight some of that). Their Poor Touring Me DVD from 25 years ago I think was one of the earliest to let the watcher choose which band member to follow on camera during the concert. They did a concert/movie probably fifteen years ago now in Vancouver that oddly had long breaks between songs while camera crew got ready for the next shot.

Now a couple songs in VR? Interesting. Though picking arguably the most expensive consumer device option for your musings is a misstep.

I’m a millennial. No way in hell am I listening to Metallica. Pretty sure that was before my time (1982).
You might not realize that their first album was on 1983, and oneof their most famous albums was in 1992. You did not watched TRL at MTV?

The crossovers of geezers that still like Metallica and Vision Pro owners must be like half a dozen people in the entire world.

Metallica fans with a Vision Pro? I can’t think of a smaller market segment if I tried.
I am not a big fan of the weekend but really enjoyed their immersive music video. So maybe I will try the Metallica experience.

Are there any hard rock bands formed in the 21st century that have wide name recognition? Or even more broadly any band that is considered to be rock? There are some groups a decade or two newer than Metallica, but I don't know any from the past 20 years (though there are individual songs I know from the past 20 years).

Sure. Ghost and Sleep Token have rapidly become two of the biggest bands in hard rock/prog rock/metal and have picked up quite a non-traditional metal audience.

Maybe I will bootleg it. Metallica doesn’t get my money ever since they helped shut down Napster.
Metallica was right though....artists have the right to choose how their music is distributed, as that is largely what happens now.

When it comes to the rock genre that’s pretty much all that exists.
only if you listen to FM radio and don't remotely explore the absurdly vast amount of new rock coming out. there's more new rock today than ever in history... I get dozens of new albums every year but I love music and look for it.go look at the recent releases under hard rock on apple music every week. plenty of awesome stuff.

The only actually sad part about this is that it's even noteworthy

That's the problem with AVP overall

By now, if Apple had been serious about it, there should be TONS of this sort of content
