I see. You can’t respond to any of the points I said 🤣. Update your script then.
There was nothing to respond to… you didn’t ask any questions, you just made statements I found irrelevant to the conversation, I have no stock in Twitter so it’s profitability or advertising stream means nothing to me as a user, obviously Elon has to make the platform run in the black to keep the lights on but I don’t really care how he does it…. I do know he has enough money in the bank to keep it running for my lifetime even if it did remain in the red

It’s just a fact check to add context, it’s useful, sunlight is always the best disinfectant

In theory, you are correct.

In fact, more often than not, when the post is political, wrong, or inflammatory, it is used to bolster and back up the inane claims more often than not.

Let's not be naive to think that the banal on the surface "community notes," has, too often not become anything else but yet another vector of hate driven by his hateful followers.

To add one more thing, how can Elon be this sort of heroic figure battling the elite...when he IS the elite?
Believe me, the man did not grow up poor or even middle class and never has been in either of those socioeconomic places. To think he cares about "free speech" seriously is foolish. All he cares about is profits and he'll give lip service to anyone to get his way. Making it out like he's fighting his own kind, in turn, seems contradictory to his actions.

I will say for Threads is that from the looks of it...not too promising.

No iPad, Mac or, heck, even a website to use it through, needing an Instagram account just to be able to use the thing (and you also can't delete your Threads account without deleting your Instagram account), lacking even basic features and a functioning feed...it all seems so half baked.

And I don't even understand the fedi feature since I know most of the Fediverse is gonna shun anything Meta or try to get Threads users to join the opens servers. Sounds more like Meta trying to make themselves stand out as a Twitter clone.

I see. You have nothing to contribute but Elon admiration lol. Some people, like you, say Elon is a libertarian. Some people, like me, will point out his agreements with hard right-wing nut jobs. And some people, like me, point out all the times Elon has stretched the truth or outright lied or has acted like a complete *******.

Freudian slip!? So as long as it does not appear to be tracking users then all is going to plan! 🤣
“across website and apps” It’s most certainly tracking users, but I’m assuming that just means it doesn’t pop up “Ask not to track”.

It may just be on your end cause all I've seen is more crypto scam accounts, the site continuing to break down like some old jalopy and people in general not being satisfied by anything Musk does.
Following wrong people perhaps? The algorythms do take in to account your interests and the interest of those you follow

Well it is community based so by nature it’s limited to those that add their 2c…. But I don’t look at it as a right or wrong, I see it as context and we are not stupid… it’s easy to see if the response is slanted..and most of the time people know if the original tweet was disingenuous anyway….. my main complaint about community notes is it’s not fast enough when an attempt is being made to write a narrative around breaking news…. Good example was the recent russian rebellion… so much disinformation… perhaps bot driven… but it was bad…. Just outright lies and video that was obviously orchestrated by someone

Spent a couple hours on it. Mostly emotionally fragile people who want to sing koombayah all day long and ramble like the milk drunk 6 year old at the kids table.

Or it's Wendy's being snarky, which I am fine with but I can get that on Twitter.

Or it's "I don't like Elon Musk because politics told me I can't like him. So, now I am gonna return the same passive aggressive, mediocre sarcasm I used on Twitter."

Without a following page, trends and post search this thing is DOA. I can't understand why they would go to market without these basics.

For novelty value it'll get a bit of traction for the next few weeks and then usage will drop off unless these are implemented quickly.

that makes no sense. Anyone, including you, could've done what he did at Tesla 20 years ago if you think all it took was 'taking tax breaks, grants, jacking up stock price'. But you didn't, and he did. How does that make him corrupt? You made it sound like it's something as easy as snap a finger then an EV, an unproven technology in 2000s would just appear. Government issued grants and tax breaks all the time to encourage entrepreneurs to take on risks in new industry. GM received government bailout and never paid back. Why aren't you complaining about them?
I complain about GM all the time, but they are not the topic nore is this Jalopnik. So why would I bring them up?

Oh sorry, were you just trying to distract from the facts and topic? My bad.

Thank god your community will not duplicated dear "CEO" of Twitter.

probably been covered already in the 9 pages, but EU users can easily get it. set up a UK apple account, you dont need to add a card or use a real address, and then log out of your own account, in as this one, download, log out and back in as normal. then you can keep the app and it will keep updating fine.
It would be a little funny to me if that’s what tech in the EU eventually becomes, folks setting up accounts outside the EU because one technology or another isn’t available. Just make it easy enough for 400+ million to set up a non-EU account and you get access to the users without having to deal with the regulations.

The power the EU exerts in to the lives of the people there and around the world is disturbing… definition of big brother… just little things like usb-c…. It’s nuts that any government would have a say imho

A lot of the figures that the "anti-elitist" follow are elite. I don't know of many that aren't born with a trust fund.
