But the fact you actually think it was "unchecked" proves how much you rely on right wing media and not actual facts. I don't know ANY person that ever saw kiddy stuff on twitter and I work in social media marketing. You had to explicitly look for it or be in the circle/connection of a lot of other kiddy pervs for the algorithm to think you wanted to see it. It didnt "just magically show up" on your feed. Anyone who swears it "just somehow showed up" I literally Do. Not. Believe.

Quoting the linked independent.ie article “In its US format, the platform tells users that it will collect a wide variety of data from users, including health, financial information, browsing histories, location, purchases, contacts, search history and sensitive information.” this is a complete privacy nightmare. It’s beyond me how Americans can accept this insane level of privacy invasion. I thought I’d never say it but I’m happy to be an EU citizen.

I take it you don't even understand the EU standards.

EU specifically has an issue with Threads user advertising data being intermingled with Instagram.

It's not some "basic privacy standard" that exists anywhere else in the world.

I applaud them for it and I am sure Meta will comply but in order to launch quickly it's easier just to build Threads effectively as an add-on for Instagram.
