^It was that whole level for me....when the music started kicking in with the voiceovers.....nostalgia wheels.

Yeah it was made for the fans and covered up every hole nicely......but I really wish snake & ______ got together.

Otacon finally got some;)

Bless

My GF's brother still can't get over the fact that I skipped every single cut-scene in this game and just played it through. Only took five hours to beat that way... He's so disappointed, LOL, this is one of his favorite franchises. I still had fun, but won't be playing it again and the Multiplayer aspect of the game did not entertain me enough to keep it.

Now I can't wait for GOW 2.

Well that's just retarded.... So you payed $60 and got 5 hours of play time. Yay? Not much. Site back, relax, and enjoy some amazing cut scenes. Explore the levels, get some cool unlocks, buy everything, and just try online again.

I rented it but yeah.. I prefer to play my games and watch my movies. :)

Don't have the time like I used to to explore everything... The Wii is probably the perfect system for me - just play a little bit here and there and be able to get back to work.

Understand that not everyone wants to have to sit through long drawn out cutscenes like we do. :)

Not really, in the first game and from what I played of 2 and 3 it wasn't cutscene-walk a few metres-cutscene. They were long but they were spaced out better, and in Twin Snakes there was a little bit of interaction with controlling the camera.

Ok I guess since you just rented it that isn't as bad but the only way to fully appreciate it is to watch everything.

I, personally, cannot stand watching cutscenes (unless you're forced to, which is the case with some parts of COD4). I think the only game I've watched any for is The Simpsons Game on Wii.

I don't know if it's been said yet, I can't really be bothered going back through the topic :p but MGS4 is already the highest-selling game for the PLAYSTATION 3, which more than 3 million copies sold.

can we all agree that raiden is a beast?

loved the game, beat it a few days ago, at first I must say I was doubtful and didn't really like it, but then it started getting really good. Wasn't a huge fan of the whole shadow moses level though, the snow was a pain in the ass.

Finished it last weekend. I absolutely loved it - definitely made the price of the PS3 bundle I got totally worth it.

Some of the highlights:
Snake's dream in the chopper, and what you get to do - absolutely brilliant.
The Matrix-y slow motion parts in the Eva/Snake chase sequence dropped my jaw.

Dislikes:
The Meryl/Johnny fight-engagement. Lame.
The battle with Ocelot, just felt weird and tacked on, from a design perspective I suppose.
Vamp.

MGS1 is my favorite of the series, with 4 a close second, and 3 a close third. I really love them all.

Im playing through this again recently.... and im loving it.... except that snake has said, "Im not a hero, never was, never will be", about 8 times in 2 hours, he just slips it in whenever he can!

Character: "We need a hero, like you"
Snake: "Im not a hero, never was, never will be"

Character: "Only a hero of some kind could save us now"
Snake: "Im not a hero, never was, never will be"

Character: "Hey Snake, remember that song by that man out of nickleback for the spiderman soundtrack... I think it was called Hero"
Snake: "Im not a hero, never was, never will be"
Character: "I was just talking about the song hero, I never said anything about you"
Snake: "Good, because Im not a hero, never was, never will be"
Character: *sigh*

Character: "It was cold at shadow moses, but its warm here though"
Snake: "Im not a hero, never was, never will be"
Character: "What are you on about?!"
Snake: "You said something about hero, didnt you?"
Character: "ermm. No, I did say its warm here though, sounds a bit similar... kind of.... i guess, but I never said hero"
Snake: "Im not a hero, never was, never will be"
Character: "Oh for **** sake!"

Sad thing is the voice over artist probably only got paid for saying the line once and they then just used the same dub over and over....

Still must struggle and get through MGS4. It'll be the first metal gear that I do, but apart from looking pretty, and having well done cutscenes (albeit some of them ridiculously long) I'm still struggling to be won over.

That's a mistake - I got my PS3 with the MGS4 bundle - loved the game... but only really appreciated it once the original MGS was released on PSN to be downloaded. Then I bought MGS2 and 3 used (the MGS4 bundle's PS3 is backward compatible), then played MGS4 again. Wow.

To be honest, I actually liked MGS3 the best of the 4, but still!

MGS3 was powerful and had an amazing story. I liked MGS4 but felt that some of the fan-service was a little tacked on. I cannot wait to grab a PS3 again and play through it and grab some more medals.

Also, 2010 cannot come fast enough for Peace Walker.
