The only Michael Jackson I liked died many years before this one.
So, mr expert, tell me exactly which records AFTER Thriller had that influence? I can assure you, you cannot.
And let me tell you about a show tour in London. There was an artist from MJ's generation whose 21 nights sold out instantly as well some 2 years as well.
And those concerts were given within 2.5 months. MJ booked nearly a year for twice as many records. And this other artist gave at least 10 after parties, where he jammed with the likes of Elton John and Amy Winehouse. Mind you, after he played for over 2 hours straight. And that other artist gave more concerts since 2000 than MJ would have given since 1997, including those 50 concerts.
There is a immensely more talented musical genius out there. And he's still alive. Enjoy a real musical talent instead of a marketed freakshow.
I'd say the fact that he sold over 750 million records, only second to the beatles, says that he surpassed elvis
I'd give him respect if he lived up to the title by gifting us with excellent music after Thriller, rather than becoming a has-been who had nothing left to give the world than walking backwards and scratching his balls whilst not touring for the last 12 years. Or even releasing some decent new songs.
I loved his music and videos despite his many problems.
Um, he coined the term himself.
I'll remember Michael Jackson for not how many albums he sold, but rather for the actions he did.
1. Settling for multi-millions out of court in a child molestation case in order for the family to drop charges, AKA buying his way out of prison.
2. Admitting to enjoying little boys in his bed (messed up, whether sexual or not.)
3. Holding his own son over a balcony upside down to paparazzi.

Are you kidding me? He has been a big influance in the music industry till the day he passed away. Most people like yourself wouldn't understand that because all people were concerned with was how he looked and all the bs scandals and I blame the media for that. And since he was about to start 50 show tour in London which all shows sold out instantly still says a lot. Again another person without a clue to what he did for pop music and the industry altogther.

Shows you that people will turn a blind eye to a child molester and buy his music; I guess there is no accounting for taste.
I'm happy that he will not see the money this is making.
Who cares if he didn't have much after the Thriller album? All his previous albums were major hits and he left his mark. Just because he didn't continue until his death doesn't mean he wasn't a legend.
He defined pop music, which is more than I can say for you. As I sit here listening to you criticize a legend, it makes me sick.
What are you? 18 years old? I don't think you know what you're talking about. When MJ announced that he'd be doing a concert in London, there were 1000s of media agencies there to record it, phone lines were jammed, and tickets were sold within a few hours.
Your attitude just proves what kind of effect the media has on an everyday idiot.
So, in the same respect, you're basically saying that since the Beatles didn't continue making good music until their death, then they're ****? Your logic is completely flawed!
Why don't you just admit that you hate him and that all your opinions are bias? Just because you're a weak minded individual that's totally controlled by the media doesn't mean everyone else is.
Don't worry. I'm not 18 years old. I hold three M.Sc and a Ph.D. It's your reaction that's worrying, not mine. Feeling sick because someone throws facts in your face that you can't refute. Rather, you try to downplay the messenger. Ppl like you deserve MJ music.
The Beatles quit in the early seventies and the earliest one to die lived at least another 10 years. And JL did more in the seventies than MJ did after Thriller. Here, your comparison is flawed.
If MJ called it a night after Thriller, I'd be happy. Instead, he continued to make a fool out of himself for another 20 years and it's pethatic whiners like you who hold the media responsible, when in fact it's all down to MJ starting a freakshow from 1985-1996 onwards instead of giving us music he was allegedly capable of.
Perhaps his talents are overrated by a long shot.
i'm more surprised that people are buying the transformers soundtrack![]()
a) He was acquitted.
b) Doesn't make him a worse singer.
c) The surgeries mean he wasn't fully mentally stable; there is a high probability that whatever he did or didn't do was because he went crazy; not because he's a pedophile.
