With that said, if someone put 20 million of hush money in front of me under the same conditions, I don't know if I would make a different decision. I'm sure the internet bravado in some would say "hell no", but I'll have to be honest and say I very well might take such an offer.

If your children had been molested (which we don't know if it happened or not), and you were given the choice: The molester goes to jail, you get nothing, or the molester goes free, you (as the guardian of your children) gets $20 million, you would have to ask yourself which would benefit your children more. Jail time = justice done = doesn't help your kids. Now if instead of helping your kids you use the money to have a good life at your kids' expense, that is a different thing.

Know all facts before you make a judgment

Before anyone attempts to make a final judgment on whether or not indeed he was guilty of the charges against him they owe to themselves to have all the facts. (or at least more facts then they get from 30 second newsbites)

This link is the from the GQ article that was written by a reputable journalist. After reading it I was dismayed at how much information was kept from the general public. This covers the first accusation

http://www.usnewslink.com/framedjackson.htm

As for the second case, it was widely reported by the media that the accusers attempted to get a payout before they went to the police which torpedoed their credibility. The JC Penny incident shows that they were grifters.

And finally I would suggest that you research the revolting subject of Pedophilia and how pedophiles act. In a nutshell it's not curable and not controllable. With his nearly unlimited access to children if he was indeed a pedophile it is likely there would have been at least some evidence that corroborated what the accusers were saying.

Am I suggesting any of this proves he is innocent ? No. I am saying that when you have more of the facts there are enough question marks to make it inappropriate to declare that he is a child molester.

And before you write me off as a fanatic. I did enjoy his music earlier in his career but sadly as he got weirder it took away from the music for me. I did not even purchas any of his albums after "Bad".

bravo well put I will admit when I was younger I did jump to conclusions and go with what u hear on the news, but now I'm in my 20's I've seen videos of him from his home movies and it does make me go, he does not look like the type of guy who would do something like that....... in fact he acts like a big kid which ties in with the whole missing out on his childhood thing with the neverland ranch.

Until there is hard evidence he was anything like they say he was I see him as a guy taken for a mug because of who he was and what money he did have.

To all who put down MJ, if you don't like him that's fine. You certainly don't have to. If you think he's done this or that it's fine, although, there's never proof. However, you cannot dismiss him as one of the greats, arguable the greatest of all time. It is just childish. His talent and achievements speak loudly. This post will get extremely long if I start telling about his remarkable unparalleled achievements. About him personally, we have proof that he was a kind man and no proof that he was a sick pervert. The most donations and charitable work by an entertainer is under his name. More than 350 MILLION dollars of his hard earned money. Yet, it is absolutely neglected like all of his astounding feats and records. What has stuck with him is merely speculation. Look up Ryan White and what MJ did for him. Mike's generosity and kindness drove him to his misery. RIP King of Pop.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first 25 years of MJ's career. Truly the King of Pop. The last ten years, though, was a ghastly horror story of never ending whoo hoos, squeeks, robot moves, scandals, dangling babies and crotch grabs. What a sad ending for a great talent. Hope he's found peace.

Of course no one can deny that the last ten years had nothing coming from him. Very true. He didn't have the time to do what he does best with all the rumors and law suits, but the man still had it. He was even composing classical music just before he died. What an artist he was. He could write, sing, compose, choreograph, dance, beatbox, produce and even draw on the highest level. I have never seen an artist that mesmerizes me and the masses as much as he did. Such a shame we didn't get more of him.

I enjoyed "Invincible" and the 30th Anniversary show a good deal. He sang all of the J5 material on that show completely live, and I thought he sounded great.

He definitely wasn't up to his 80's standard, but that's a pretty high expectation to place on anyone. It's like when people constantly compare Prince to his 80's work or Stevie Wonder to his 70's material. Those type of runs only happen once.

As for the allegations against him, I thoroughly agree with a couple of the more recent posts on the subject: everyone really should read the facts before jumping to any conclusions. The media did a fantastic job of preventing a one-sided job. Remember how before the verdict was read all these news specials came out "What if Jackson goes to jail"? Showing where he'd be taken, what he'd eat, what he'd wear? But yet they never mentioned how the mother went to the same lawyer who got the 1993 boy a settlement before ever contacting authorities, and said lawyer as the one who set the wheels in motion. There are very dubious circumstances in both cases.

You can't be serious. The media is the very reason why Michael Jackson left the world with bad energy for many people.

Anyone who thinks Michael Jackson was a pedophile, is not an MJ fan obviously. Because his music promoted exactly the opposite. If you were an MJ fan you would know his music..

No, I was serious... but I also made a typo :p

I meant to say "presenting" instead of preventing. Crazy how one letter made my sentence the polar opposite of what I was aiming for. But the information I posted after that flub showed why I thought the media was biased.

I agree, the media was incredibly unfair to Jackson.

Invincible is phenomenal and hugely underrated.

But is that really MJ singing, starting at 1m13? Wow...that makes the 'his voice was his instrument-argument' really go out the window...

So what about the times he did sing live? Or does that just not count?

As for the allegations against him, I find it telling that in both cases, the parents went to an attorney before they bothered alerting authorities.

Especially because in the second case, the mother claimed the family was held against their will.
