Microsoft pleading with Apple to make software for their operating system? My, how the worm has turned.
No iTunes. No STEAM. I'm beginning to see the picture and it's the picture I saw when this POS OS was first announced.

There was an article that Windows 8 gives the continuous "sold vs. shipped" debate a whole new meaning: There are estimates that of 100 million of Windows 8 copies _sold_ (and paid for) only about a third are actually shipped. That would be PC makers having to pay Microsoft for Windows 8 but then shipping the computer with Windows 7 because that is what the customer wants.
Yeah just like people actually used Lion.
Give me 10.4 Tiger. When Spotlight worked.Windows made Vista. But the people said noooo give me XP instead.
Windows made W8. But the people said noooo give me W7 instead.
So do we have a trend where:
Windows makes X version OS. But the people say nooooo give me X-1 (ie the previous) OS instead.

Oh yeah, that makes so much sense. As long as Best Buy or any other retailer BUYS 100 million copies of Windows 8 (even if their customers aren't buying it from them) that's considered SOLD.. Gotta love the Microsoft supporters here, should I go on an presume that you're one of these as well, the ones that supported MS's ridiculous claims that the Surface sold out the first day at the stores, only for Microsoft's secret to get unveiled that truth was they only had very small quantities in each store from the get go? LOL.
Its kind of like if msft would put office on iOS? lol
You're kidding me, right? -_-
How about waiting for an improvement to iTunes on OS X before porting it to Windows?![]()
I have heard good things about Civilization V in Windows 8 touch mode. I doubt you would try to run that on Windows RT.No iTunes. No STEAM. I'm beginning to see the picture and it's the picture I saw when this POS OS was first announced.
Yeah, you're right, paying for music is definitely better than streaming high quality music I choose for free.

People are making the strange connection that all copies of Windows 8 cannot run iTunes. Metro would target the touch interface along with x86/ARM. ARM being the big one here.
What is Apple's angle? They don't want to have a maximum of users of iTunes? Because it's not that important moneywise? Or don't they have enough software engineers, seeing that they are already short on time for iOS7? Or do they think that people will buy a Mac over a Windows 8 computer just for iTunes?

Until Metro apps can run windowed on the desktop, I don't think there's any point in making a new app for Windows 8.
That's exactly why. Oh and of course Apple wanting a cut of app stores sales.
They're a hardware company. Money they make off iTunes is marginal compared to money they make by selling iPads.
Even if the number of iTunes users goes up by, the additional revenue will be more than offset by revenue lost from people who use it as a reason to buy a Win8 tablet instead of an iPad.
The tradeoff doesn't work in Apple's favor
Well, look at it this way -- antagonists always say that iTunes is terrible. If that is the case, this is the perfect opportunity to develop Zune or Google Play or Amazon MP3 / Amazon Instant Video into iTunes killers.I understand why Apple might be doing this, but I don't agree with it. Perhaps it's because MS is dragging their heels with an Office for iOS app? In the end, consumers are the ones who suffer.
I really don't understand what is so "hard" about Windows 8, it's like people wilfully like to admit they aren't that bright
somethings may not be great, but certainly not "hard" to learn
