Yup, a solid and exciting move forward from Microsoft.

Lots of exciting software developments and 3D integration.

And the Surface Studio is a terrific product. It's like the evolution of the iMac, with some IPad Pro thrown in. Then some serious pro level features, from the infinite positionable screen, to the one button cycle through colour standards, thrown into the mix.

Edit: Or as forum member yaxomoxay said in another thread: "My jaw dropped. That thing is like an iPad pro+iMac on steroids and cocaine while drinking coffee"

: )

Your move Apple.

Yep, and like the Studio, MS is putting a whole lot of innovation, I'm really impressed with what they're doing. Apple, we have emojis, with MS, you can live stream your games with a push of a button, content creation is something they seem to be going after as well
They're going after the professional market that Apple has completely abandoned.

These are amazing, but the pricing is outrageous. The iMac clone starts at 2,999!!!!!
A clone in appearance maybe, but certainly not a clone in features.

Surface Book i7 is whatever...seems they didn't actually fix the main issue which is the wobbly hinge. The surface studio, however, looks incredible. That is hardware innovation. Actually changing how we use the computer, versus doing the same thing every year. iMac has grown incredibly stale over the years.

What is the keyboard like on the Surface Book? I've never seen one in person, but if Apple stick with butterfly keys, I'll be looking for a Windows laptop when my rMBP dies.

Scanning an object to 3D with a phone is really gimmicky today. They end up being fairly rough and have far more polygons than really needed. In any case it's cool that major players are thinking about these things, they tech will improve with time.

Seems like Microsoft has noticed Apple's recent lack of care for the professional community and is stepping in to take their market.
Surface Studio looks cool. But it'd be cooler if it was just a monitor that connected to a beastly tower. It'd also be cool if it had Thunderbolt 3.
All-in-ones just aren't ideal for professionals.

MacRumors, Surface Studio storage is hybrid storage (HDD+SSD). that 1 and 2 TB options are not all SSD.
And just look at it's price.. 8GB RAM, i5 CPU, and 1TB hybrid drive for 2999 USD.
I'll no more complain about those hybrid drives in 2499 USD iMacs!

Can't innovate my ass.

But seriously, Microsoft continues to make excellent hardware. Software improvement is slower, but it's coming along.

Every Apple fan should applaud this because it is good for the ecosystem to get such amazing competition.
It's nice to have options in the premium space, for sure. Apple has been playing alone up there for a while now, and it shows in how long it's been since they've done anything with the Mac. It's still hard for me to get over the whole "windows" thing, though.

no doubt that microsoft has upped their game. the first version of the surfacebook was the first time i felt a product beat apple at its own game. i was happy about it though because competition is good and apple needed to be pushed. we haven't had an answer though and this is version 2 of the surface book. the desktop is extremely appealing especially if you're a creative and you've been waiting on apple to update macs for 3 years.

i hope apple responds but i'll be honest, i think apple is behind a bit...worrying too much about phones, emojis, balloons, and music....
