Attention to detail, or lack there of, is one of several reasons why MS's products do so poorly. For me, the fact that they didn't take the time to figure out how to get the "marketplace" label to fit on the screen, makes it look "half bad".![]()

It's easier to regurgitate an oft-stated opinion or bash what you haven't used - if you did that, you might have to actually have some respect for it. It's also fun to see the trolls come out and say 'Apple is God, everyone bow down," or, "Microsoft can't lose, they have x number of features and Apple doesn't."You mean the update that allows me to load games onto my HD to improve all-around performance? The one that allows me to stream Netflix movies in HD to my home theater? That useless update?
I swear. You people.
THEY COPIED IT RIGHT DOWN TO THE BLACK AND SILVER BACK!!!!!
There was absolutely no reason they couldn't create their own color scheme. That is simply a blatant rip off. I know they can't think of anything original, but right down to the colors of the first iPhone? Jayzus.
480 x 272 for the onboard display sadly. OLED looks great on portable devices though. You really notice it outdoors.External HD playback is pretty cool, I'd like to see ipod support that at some point. But sounds like it's only 720.
Are there any specs out about the screen resolution? Widescreen? Or are they just going to have 4:3 and lie about it like last time?
Especially for a device marketed right out the gate as HD!The 480 x 272 resolution is pretty disappointing.
Manufacture it to look enough like an iTouch, slap on features, subsidize the price, and send it out to the Marketplac{ - that ought to grab some market share. Hopefully, the OLED screen will be visible in daylight, since OLED has no backlight to substantially illuminate a screen out doors. Looking forward to HD radio, and hope that the SSD is at least 80G, capable of carrying more than a few 720p videos. It's easier to regurgitate an oft-stated opinion or bash what you haven't used - if you did that, you might have to actually have some respect for it. I've only seen one person with a Zune. Everyone else I know has an iPod of some kind. My friend with the Zune? I've tried using it, and it's all right, but my touch is far more flexible and more straightforward. Hopefully the Zune HD is an improvement over the original, though if the interface is the same (except with multitouch slapped on it) I'm not hopeful.
OMG and wearing the same thing as Apple what a biatch!![]()

Odd choice. Nice that they went widescreen (instead of just lying about it like last time) but doing it at a lower resolution than the touch? Seems like a pretty low resolution for an "HD" device.
At least Apple paid Xerox to lease it, before developing it significantly. Then Xerox shows up and goes... HEY THOSE ARE MY SUITS!
Haven't tried it, but a number of geek pundits praise Songbird, and for full-tilt home theatre use, PlexI still use a pc at home as a back up machine, what alternatives to itunes are there and which are improvements on itunes?
It's tough to do widescreen on a mobile device unless you want to go up to 800 x 480.Odd choice. Nice that they went widescreen (instead of just lying about it like last time) but doing it at a lower resolution than the touch? Seems like a pretty low resolution for an "HD" device.

Which is nice but you run into ppi issues not to mention the cost of a high resolution display of that size.I'm betting the next major update for iPhone/iPod touch will be 640x960 (or 960x640 if you hold it horizontally). Four times the resolution = easy GPU scale-up of current applications with no blurriness.

...and in true M$ fasion, they follow in the footsteps of the innovators at Apple. And as the ignorant masses gather and talk of how new and amazing it is, myself and tens of millions of others chuckle softly to ourselves. For we have enjoyed this "new" and "innovative" experience for two years already... although admittedly without the poor user experience of a Windows device. And in mere weeks, when Apple bestows its newest updates to their already superior products, we shall laugh again as the immitators at M$ find themselves, once more, years behind.

Take "high resolution" with a pinch of salt.

Why is a "Mac" website doing articles about new Microsoft products? How is this Apple-related? Frankly... that's the reason why there's so many negative posts about it here... also because Microsoft sucks.
Interesting that such a terrible product can generate so many nervous posts. I wonder why that is ?
