Lots of Microsoft hate, but Apple should welcome MS’ offerings. If I didn’t have a Surface Laptop and Windows desktops I could never afford to buy Apple’s phones, watches, AirPods, and (some) services. :)

Love my Apple mobile products.

Also love my first gen i5 Surface Laptop I bought open box for $500. The keyboard is amazing and I get a lot of writing done on it.

Windows’ updates have been obnoxious but they’re getting a lot better about that and to be honest, my iPhone 11 Pro and Apple Watch 4 have been updating/notifying of updates all damn week. I was in the store the other day and looked down at the time and my watch was in the middle of an update. I didn’t even know that could happen when it was off the charger.

There will be a lot of haters here naturally, but for years now Microsoft/Google/Huawei events have been far more exciting than Apple events.
Yeah! The 15 seconds of awkward silence after the audience quit applauding for the Surface Duo unveil video had me on the edge of my seat!

I see allot of people here hyped up about concept vaporware. Let’s see real world results if they ship a year from now. This is just like concept cars that look nothing like the real thing when they come to market.

$250 for headphones for Microsoft headphones? I can get Sennheiser Momentum for the same price!!!!! Or if i want to save money get Apple airpods!

I have to say, I love the Surface brand. Currently using a Surface Laptop 2. Basically Microsoft's answer to the Macbook Air.

I knew I should have copyrighted my design for a two glass screened foldable device a couple of years ago.

let me assure you, if you came up with any folding design just two years ago, you were at least a decade late to the party.

I like that Microsoft is actually being innovative and trying different things, to varying degrees of success. ACCESSIBLE SSDS!!! Awesome.

If only Apple had this kind of courage, where they bet big and Make the Mac Great Again (sorry, couldn't resist).

Still, Windows is Windows and macOS is STILL better, by a lot, in my opinion and use case. This is an unpopular idea with my teenage kids though, all of which are hardcore gamers and creatives.

Been begging me for a PC for YEARS; maybe I'll build one this Christmas so they can let me be since my 9-year-old Apple hardware is LOOONG in the tooth.

But I'm afraid I'll love it too much and leave the Mac (yeah, right).

I guess I'm conflicted on this. ;)

I much prefer the Microsoft design to Apple's Q-Tips-in-the-ear look.

Can't speak to the functionality, though if the flat surface is trackpad-like that'd be really cool.
Why don’t you just use boot camp.

Windows.....

I know its 2019, but still....its Windows.......

I can’t even remember seeing the Windows OS for the 3 months I was editing and color grading a feature film in Premiere and Davinci Resolve on my Windows desktop. Once you’re doing work, who cares? The only thing I cared about was that I could upgrade my GPU on a 3 year old desktop (that only cost $1800 to begin with) for $400 and somehow do all of the post production on a full movie shot in 8K RAW. I was even able to keep the footage in RAW for full flexibility all the way until the final colored output to a 4K master.

Other indie filmmakers at festivals have been dumbstruck that I was able to do this, as they usually have to bake their raw footage down to 4K ProRes very early in the process negating most of the benefits of shooting raw to begin with.

Nice hardware, terrible software.
Yep, just sold my Surface. I didn't use it enough. It was more of a computer than a tablet. The Windows Store sucks cause there's no apps. The Surface is bulky and gets hot in my hands. I'm switching back to iPad Pro this winter. I'm very excited for the Apple ecosystem with Catalyst and SwiftUI.

The surface buds just look odd, no to mention the $249 price tag🤷‍♂️

The AirPods are what, $50.00 cheaper for the wireless version? If the fit _and_ functionality deliver, then what’s the problem? Price is Kind of subjective if the technology delivers.

"Is there anything to make you leave the Apple ecosystem? I am curious to hear your thoughts..."

The Neo and Duo are very interesting, but not even close to making me want to switch out of the Apple ecosystem. Do these devices have FaceID? Apple Arcade? TV+? Ability to store multiple credit cards (i.e. Wallet / Apple Pay)? Connect to Apple Watch? Supports Logic Pro X / Final Cut Pro / Keynotes / Pages / Numbers etc. that do not have a monthly fee? The list goes on...

Apple simply provides a more polished & complete package - both hardware & software. The Apple ecosystem is intuitive and less prone to ridiculous bugs & inconsistencies that Microsoft has. I also feel compelled to say that those headphones are hideous in my opinion!

Typing this on my old Surface Pro 3. Was waiting for this announcement as I need a new laptop.

Been into the Apple store, tried the Macbook Pros and Airs, but I just can't use the Apple keyboards. The lack of key travel just feels like I'm tapping on a touchscreen and it hurts my fingertips with any length of writing. Can't stand the keyboards Apple has been using.

It's all just personal preference, but I have no problem using Windows. v10 has been really really good to me over the years. Super stable.

Not sure if all these ideas will stick. Microsoft is innovating but taking some risks.

WTF is Tim doing, still partying in Europe promoting the Apple credit card? Apple laptops can't even get keyboards right. At least Apple stores now have displays so you can look at them while you replace your keyboards.

Lastly, love how Microsoft** has kept the USB-As. Tim and his dongle fetish is too much for me!

MS comes out with this and Apple gave us a credit card. Tim you are doing a great job!

Whilst I don't know if I would use all of those products, and will wait for reviews to flow through, but that was a significantly more interesting presentation than the Apple Special Event to launch the new iPhones this year.

Something is very wrong in the Tech when Microsoft are the ones innovating and making exciting products and Apple are boring me to tears. I love the idea of a fold out tablet with two screens. Having a hinge and not trying for a folding screen is sensible. I don’t think that tech is ready yet.
