Can I synch edge to a Google account? Or only Microsoft. Need to synch to access a bunch of plugins on a G account. Would love to use edge instead.
You can only use a microsoft account but all chrome extensions are supported

On my work computer, I browse personal sites with Safari and internal work sites with Edge. I used to use Firefox for work sites, but it consistently used too much memory. Edge memory consumption is at least 25% less than Firefox for me.

“Popular“??

Or installed on every windows 10 machine and used to download Chrome or Firefox....

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on a MacOS Machine.
Oh you mean the same way safari is installed on every mac and used to download those two browsers?

I'm running edge on mine. I want to use a chromium browser that's not coming directly from google.

I have been using it as my default browser on my M1 Mac. It works very well. I almost never use Safari or chrome anymore.
I see that you are a big fan of Edge.
Can you explain to me why Microsoft avoids putting its browsers on the Apple App Store for download?
Are they afraid of Apple's in-depth security review?

I would actually try out the browser if I knew that it could be deleted cleanly afterwards. This has not been the case with any Microsoft software so far (anyone who has looked into it knows that).

I have frequent conversations with professional security experts, hence my knowledge.

Is Firefox in the Apple App Store? is Chrome in the Apple App Store? Is Brave in the Apple App Store? Is Opera in the Apple App Store? What browsers ARE in the Apple App Store? Maxthon maybe?

You can answer this very question. You have understood the idea. Apple's App Store does not coincide with the interests of these software distributors.
Browsers want to delineate markets. As far as I know, you can only sync Edge's bookmarks with iOS if you have a Microsoft account.

I guess that means Firefox is scared of Apple's in-depth security review by that line of reasoning.
It's on Apple's App Store for phones/tablets, they probably just don't see the use in putting it on the Mac App Store.

I guess you have no problem with Microsoft's Office suite since it is on the Mac App Store...

Huh. Vertical tabs should be interesting.

I have an Ultrawide (16:9) monitor, and I don't need the entire horizontal space for the browser.

Granted, I do run other programs and have no problem using all of the monitor space, but having other options for how I can organize my browser pages/tabs would be nice.

I mostly use Safari, but I will check this out at some point in time.
Vivaldi browser has had this for a long time you should try it' I really like it in conjunction with tab stacks.

Remember, if a product is free, then you are the product!
edge and Chrome only exist to profile you and target ads your way. Stick with Safari, you paid for it already.

You forgot their office stand-alone version. Security departments use only this.

Didn't know Microsoft had a browser for the Mac... I use Safari or Chrome. Not familiar with Edge. Any good?
It's lighter than Chrome. For me, Chrome uses about 4-5 GB of ram while Edge only uses 2-3, even with extensions disabled. I also noticed Edge seems to use less CPU which might explain why I don't notice stuttering as often.

I'd prefer to use Safari, but without a Windows version, it's effectively not worth considering.

used RAM for the basic application
Of course, this is the lower range. Of course, it depends on the overall load, e.g. if you load many tabs at the same time.

Edge is amazing! I was using instead of Chrome for few months, but I got back to Chrome for 2 reasons:

1. Chrome is better on iOS devices than Edge, I use a lot as "handoff", switching back and forward from my PC to iPad, Edge still quite buggy with this feature.

2. Chrome's shortcut app feature, that allows create an app-like from any website is amazing, I use to create apps from my iCloud mail, calendar, contacts and photos. Feels like I have a mac for that part.

Interesting take on tabs. It looks like it's panel can be pushed shorter for more screen real estate.

Scrolling down a long list is much better than trying to find something nested in tabs.

They disappear in to a bar when you're not directly looking at them, and expand when you hover over. So far I quite like it - not sure I'll stick with it as it's not completely obvious which tab is what when you have multiple tabs open to the same site.

It’s a case of if horizontal tabs work perfect why do you need a worse version vertically. Maybe because it’s a feature of Windows that has vertical options in the Settings app. It is part of the Windows 10 design language...

...the original PC Guy might like it

Thats funny that you have more issues on edge mobile than chrome because chrome is so buggy on my phone lol
And Edge is able to make the like apps that aren't apps (I don't know how to describe that lol)
