and even then their response was pretty much a lie and BS.

I don't know if you know it or not, but user samcraig is the original "don't hold it that way" guy. There is a 100+ page thread here documenting sam's reporting the antenna issue to Apple and he got a personal reply from Steve.

That's it? Some stuff about iPad 4G? It did indeed have a 4G radio that did work in many parts of the world that's not US. iPhone 3G (or S?) speed? Of course speed of certain apps depend on the network. Some apps require Internet connectivity and a slow connection is not really Apple's fault. There is no claim by Apple that it actually runs that fast regardless. In fact, there is usually a small disclaimer to such an effect, something like "user performance depends on network". Siri works differently for everyone. It's AI, not just A. It adjusts to your voice patterns and such.

Also, Apple directly addressed any of those criticisms by including common sense disclaimers like certain things will sped up for sake of a shorter commercial, network conditions may vary, etc.

The example of Nokia using some other device to record video and pass off as something from a Lumia is blatantly lying. Apple does not do that. If there are any variations that affect real world usage, they usually add some disclaimer. Which is something I don't see in that Microsoft add. Next example you bring up could possibly be a lawsuit involving a plaintiff who bought hot coffee, spilled it on themselves and sued the place they bought the coffee from since no one said it might burn them. Seriously.

The irony that your reply began with the sentence "that's it?" and followed it with 3 rather longish paragraphs is definitely not lost on me.

Although unnecessary, here's more.

And you must remember Apple's iPad advert showing it running Flash:

Here's Apple doctoring a shot of Star Trek movie to falsely fit on the iPad:

Plus, there is also the fake screenshots Apple used for its initial FaceTime advertisements plus the misleadingly quick App switching Apple depicts during their commercials.

Yep, all $34 of it. ;) It should quiet a few investors wealthy beyond means.

You must not understand how stocks work. You're allowed to buy more than one share you know

But keep ragging on MSFT. All that talk about how they suck causes it to be undervalued, which gives me an opening to buy, then they surprise people at earnings calls and put money in my pocket

Because this error - which was corrected - affects the product how?

Not at all.I'm skeptical that it was an "error".Someone at Microsoft had to feed the "bigger screen"lie to the ad agency.
Anyway, this rather insignificant incident aside,I've had all the experience with Microsoft products that I care to have.More than enough.

Oh I know a lot about stocks than you think. Oh, sorry I certainly didn't mean to act of place here "ragging on Microsoft and all". Let me check the URL here.....oh yes, the address bar does say:

How is Microsoft lying? Aren't they just being misleading too by making it appear the Asus is actually bigger than it is?

Read the article. The ad stated the screen was bigger. It is smaller. Those words, mistake or deliberate lie,are untrue.

If you'd put $100K in Apple in mid-September, you'd have $63K today.

If you'd put $100K in Microsoft in mid-September, you'd have $110K today.

Any questions?

Microsoft is worth about what it was when I sold it.
I bought Apple with the proceeds at $70.
I'm OK with that.

Well me and one or two others. But yes.

Exactly.

Clearly you don't. See below (oh wait - you won't see my post because you have me on ignore because I keep pointing out where you're wrong and you can't seem to take criticism at all.

If you put $100k in Apple just last month, you'd have $110k today. Love how you cherry pick the dates.

It looks like the boys from Daring Fireballs are holding the tablets the wrong way.

Most people hold and use their tablets in landscape mode. And a lot of tablets out there are bigger than Apples in width when using it that way.

Apple should know that size and other aspects of a device depend on how you hold it.

I almost always use mine in portrait. That is why 16:9 is such a major fail.

The internet needs a Universal Bane button. Considering most are probably dudes we can use the actual quote.

"You type like a younger man, nothing held back. Admirable but mistaken."

Any thread pretty much, it has use.

However, there is a tool that activates it for any printer. I think it's called Handyprint (used to be Airprint Activator)

It's really lame that you need special printers. Whatever happened to "it just works?".

Good program, donationware. Basically makes your computer advertise any printer as an AirPrint printer. Honestly I'd be surprised if this functionality wasn't added to OS X in the future as it only seems logical (and obviously easy to do). For this, I'm surprised that it hasn't been implemented already.

Then again, I doubt AirPrint would have been added to as many printers now if manufacturers had an easy way out from the beginning.

Clearly based on your comments you don't know basic geometry. Not going to discuss further, you keep saying the same thing, and it's still wrong. Go draw a square with a 12" diagonal, and a rectangle with a 12" diagonal and see how many M&Ms you can fit in both, maybe that'll finally get the concept through your head.

Better not knowing basic geometry than not having basic reading skills. For the second time now, they don't have the same diagonal measurements. One has a longer diagonal measurement than the other. You keep giving the same example and its still wrong.

Difference between you and I is I actually fully understand the geometry behind it, I also recognize the little loophole that Microsoft decided to exploit, and don't have a blind allegiance to Apple to take it personally, no matter how "inaccurate" the ad may be.

You on the other hand keep thinking both have the same diagonal measurement. Get a calculator, type 10.1 - 9.7 and see what you come up with. If you don't get 0, your analogies are inaccurate and maybe that'll finally get the concept through your head. ;)

Everyone relax. No amount of false advertising is going to sway people away from iPads. People still just don't get it. The reason iPad has done so well is because there are 100 million people out there that don't give a %^&* about specs, they care about ease of use and practicality. They will be intimidated by a tablet that has multiple things on the screen and tiles animating and updating. It's too much noise and it's not necessary. Tech geeks are still 0.001% of the population whatever you may think.

LOL. Please. You make it sound like the iPad is built for dummies who can't multi-task or having multiple windows/panels on one screen. I, myself, wasn't even intimidated by the Surface Pro (Windows 8) system when I tried it out in the store. I've been using computers all my life since the 1980s and have had no problems using Win 8. In fact, I like the fact it can split windows with programs running simultaneously without having to keep pressing the home button every time to multi-task. Even I figured out instantly that the 'home' button on the Surface Pro was the touch-based logo on the panel.

Ask yourself this. Why didn't Apple have the iPad do the window splitting in the FIRST place? To be honest, I'm quite sick and tired of having to push the home button to multi-task and if Apple was so forward-thinking in design, why didn't they eliminate the home button in favor of a touch based version or gesture to go back to 'home' or split windows, to reduce the wear and tear on mechanical buttons in the FIRST place?

More over, there's so much complaining that the Apple fans here are having a little hissy fit over Microsoft's ad which gets to the point that it can do MORE than what the iPad can do. I've seen it and I've tried it out. It does a lot of things quite well. I'm not even bothered by the "metro" UI design and I'm speaking this as an artist/designer, and can understand why they did that approach. I even have the original iPad and it works fine as it is, and don't need a Retina display even though I'm very seriously considering getting a new tablet from Wacom this summer (I hear they're working on a mobile tablet for graphic professionals) or another model, most likely Win 8 Surface Pro due to the pressure sensitive glass that iPad does NOT have.

You might NOT realize this but Apple is getting closed out by Microsoft's XBox One (voice control on TV and the new Kinect--I've seen the new video demo of it. It's impressive), Leap Motion (motion control tech), and a few other phone manufacturer's new advances in smartphone technology/marketing.

And even the iWatch won't even show up until the end of 2014, which means, Apple's "trojan horse" for remote control on their tv product is being pushed back. I wouldn't be surprised if that watch of theirs has something to do with the TV concept they were working on.

Give Microsoft credit for being proactive. What Apple does is 'baby steps after baby steps' to evolve while other plow ahead.

They never lied in those ads because not a single person here defending Microsoft can prove or confirm it.

There was one ad that claimed MS was investing all their money into advertising vista and none to fix the problems it had, yet there were two service packs and multiple other updates after the fact. But please, don't let something as trivial as facts and proof stop you from worshiping Apple as the God of Gods. ;)

Share price alone does not determine the market cap of the company, if you're trying to show something by the number 34. Google isn't worth more than Apple even though its share price is much higher.

Which one was that? I remember 3 anti-Vista ads, and none of them mentioned that. If one of them did, then that's bad.
