Maybe Microsoft needs to deny permission to run Windows on Apple hardware to make them stop?

Right, like they would give a crap.

It's not in their business model, and it simply won't happen. Microsoft's whole business model revolved around putting their OS on any many different types of hardware as possible. Apple is the opposite of that. And only a tiny fraction of Mac users run Windows on their computer. The only loser would be Microsoft, because they would be losing out on selling Windows licenses to Mac users.

Where's the part in the ad that states Due to lack of security in Windows, only the Mac & iPad users are able to work at Sony Pictures?

Or better yet, how about this Dear Microsoft can your OS make it a day without rebooting or having malicious software installed silently on you machine because some banner ad had bad code?

:D :apple: :p

Remember, incompetent Apple fanboys, competition is a healthy thing.

I have no problem with competition.

My problem is that Microsoft thinks they have a no-compromise device that can be a MacBook and an iPad in one, but instead, ecosystem preference aside, they have a hot mess of a UI that isn't good at either mode, and haven't yet grasped that the ergonomics of using propped up touch screen (let alone using a pen on it!) while sitting are quite terrible.

So this is the innovative Surface?

Apple has over 20 stylus patents/patent applications. Add proper pen support and split screen multi-tasking to iPad and who cares about Surface.

But but but... The surface has a 'kickstand'. Oh, and the ultra revolutionary 'USB Port'. We don't see many of those yet these days... Very 'high tech'...

What amuses me is that they are comparing it to a laptop. Have they actually tried to use the thing on their laps? Thats the reason they need that precious 'kick stand' in the first place. Its a tablet with a cover that has a built in 'keyboard'. I suppose the idiots sucked in will fall for this, and the 'usb'.

Who would use it like most people use a tablet though? MS never shows it off in portrait orientation. They're always showing it with the keyboard attached and kickstand out. I can't imagine crawling up on the couch or in bed and reading a book with that thing. It's basically a touch screen laptop with average keyboard/trackpad.

Fair enough, but the Surface looks so ridiculous. The MacBook Air looks the cleaner more convenient machine.

The Surface has never appealed to me, but then I returned an iPad after a few days use because I kept using my laptop instead.

I came here for the defensive comments, and I did not leave disappointed.

Like all the defensive comments one sees on Windows Phone threads on sites like the Verge? :D Microsoft fanboys aren't any different/better than any other fanboys. ;)

I bought a Surface Pro 3, and I really like it. It's a great little machine for doing development on the go. It's incredibly portable and decently fast, but too hard to use in some cases; it's actually less convenient than using a full laptop. The biggest problem is that it's impossible to use the stupid little typecover on your lap!

I might sell it and buy a Yoga 3. :)

My experience as well, it's technically an amazing device, an exercise in just how small can you make a PC. Trouble is it will always be a compromise that I personally didn't need to make. The keyboard isn't as good as a full keyboard on a laptop, I can't remember every using it as a tablet or making use of the pen.

Microsoft is hoping to lure MacBook users to its Surface Pro 3

“Will you step into my parlor?” said the spider to the fly;
“’Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you did spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many pretty things to show when you are there.”
“O no, no,” said the little fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.”

Microsoft is making the most out of it right now. They know they only have until the 12" MacBook & iPad Pro comes out to boost sales.

The Microsoft software website looks so much like Apples! (lots of white space, lots of high gloss images without border).

They really can't innovate ******!

LOL what a joke.

I have a friend that works at a very large electronic store, umm lets just say they fry things, anyway the most returned item is the Surface Pro 3! LOL

Why are they returned?

Most of the Surface Pros are broken out of the box and the rest are returned, because they suck. Literally, customers do not like the product. Regardless of wether the customers are Win or Mac people, most of the Surface Pros are returned.

Also, employees would rather sell a different product.

Of course they are!

Or better yet, how about this Dear Apple can your Yosemite make it a day without rebooting
ftfy

Microsoft's best move is to keep their software as is while OSX works diligently to lose all the things that made it superior.

Holy ****, by now they have probably made more anti Apple ads than Apple has made anti Microsoft ads.

In the commercial...I don't get why he's so fascinated with the kick stand out of everything.

Right - you're comparing the Surface 3 to a laptop.... The laptop ALREADY has a 'kickstand', i.e. way to keep the screen up. I can understand if he has an iPad, but a LAPTOP?

Plus the dumb 'has a USB' - the mac laptops ALSO have USBs.

The ONLY thing in the ad that the mac wouldn't have would be touch-screen, which they repeat a few times, and 'it comes apart'.
