Was excited to receive OneDrive 22.045 today via the App Store... but what a disappointment. Still Intel-based.

Maybe on account of that relatively recent release that seemed to break everything for everybody, they’re being more cautious with this one - it’s a good thing.. I guess..

OndeDrive Appstore version updated today to 22.055.0313.0001

... still intel.
Yea, I was excited to see it update... then I checked Activity Monitor and found out it's Intel-based.

Why in the world is Microsoft dragging its feet with the App Store version. I'm tempted to uninstall and reinstall the App Store version to see if it switches to M1.

It does not, don’t bother. Unless we want to replace it with the standalone version, all we can do is wait.

I don't want to install the standalone version because I don't want Microsoft's autoupdate app running. That's the reason I wanted to use the App Store version. One less process running to suck up resources/battery life.

I totally agree, I'm in the same boat.

The Mac App Store version of OneDrive was just updated to version 22.065.0412 and before you get your hopes up, forget it, it's STILL Intel-only. Honestly, I have stopped caring at this point, it's ridiculous.

Does anybody know if similar feature release delays are happening with the rest of the office suit on the App Store? Are we App Store users way behind without even knowing it…

I run the App Store version of office and the other apps mostly appear to be Apple Silicon Native:

Excel: Native
Word: Native
OneNote: Native
Outlook: Native

And yeah one drive still isn't for me, and I'm not going to run the microsoft updater...

As the MS Edge Browser also needs the microsoft updater I'm just thinking about going all in with direct download of MS Office and not using it via App Store.

As a heavy user of OneDrive - for work, I gave up on using the app, because it was so buggy, and starting using the web version. For me, it's way better, and I am using it every day.

I just checked and OneDrive is still Intel indeed.

Where do we report Microsoft for spreading misinformation?

I have to be - best part of a couple of TB from a couple of clients. I went as far as dumping oneDrive locally but using it on my NAS, and using my NAS client on my laptop to sync with that.

For clarity:

NAS: OneDrive sync for all the libraries I want.
MacOS: NAS client to sync with the NAS, not OneDrive.

Since the new ARM version of the client though I tested moving back - now I've dumped the NAS sync and I'm back to using the native OneDrive sync.

The only oddity I've spotted is it sometimes doesn't seem to startup at boot? I don't really reboot that often so i've not clarified when/if it happens - just sometimes I find it's not running.

If anyone is still waiting for the Mac App Store version to be updated for Apple Silicon... stop waiting and go install it from Microsoft's website.

Look for:

22.045.0227.0004 (Standalone for Apple silicon devices)

I could, but I can't be bothered with the hassle of switching onedrive clients and having microsoft's autoupdate software running, it's honestly just less effort for me to put up with the app store version until microsoft finally bother to update it

And now Teams has been updated to Apple Silicon, and can apparently be found .. somewhere on the internet ..

It's an exploration build hosted on microsoft's site, they pulled the link from the build list, likely it'll be officially announced sooner or later

Sooner OR later - so, any time point in the future so..
It’s all good, once OneDrive and Teams are converted I’m all silicon :)

Yeah, now that I've got native teams all I'm waiting for is native onedrive to be released and a native version of whatsapp, and then all the things that are constantly running on my mac should be native

Native Onedrive was released weeks ago. Just download it direct from Microsoft. Onedrive updates itself automatically so you won't have to worry about the standalone Microsoft updater either.
