I just think it'll be really funny when people take notice how damn unoriginal this whole ms store design is, ESPECIALLY considering the fact that they're opening them as close to Apple stores as they can. Idiots. With that level of similarity, I would put my store as far away from Apple's stores as possible. Yea yea, I know the average consumer doesnt care, and yes I know they want them close to the Apple store so they can draw customer's away...but come on, who are they kidding?

Ahhh good for them. I suppose I can't be such a hater. They need to give their stock some oomph. It's not like they have a 200$ a share stock or anything. I always root for underdogs! Good going boys!

Microsoft the underdogs, how ironic! :D

Why are you changing the subject, you claimed Apple stole the multi touch mouse concept from Microsoft even though Apple is the one with an actual shipping product, stick to the script buddy. Did Apple steal the concept or what?

Come on now.... he/she won't answer... that would mean he/she is wrong..... And well we can't have that.

I do agree that the answer bar is similar to Apple; however, this thread is sort of ridiculous. I am an Apple fan and have been for years, but the fanboy mentality sometimes makes me laugh. This store has nice floors and a clean open workspace, well it must be a copy of an Apple store. Or, could it be any other boutique type store, like a B&O or Hugo Boss. I do think it was really stupid having everyone laugh and cheer and that one lady slap everyone on the back, I would be like, women get your hands off me.

Am I the only person here who finds the clapping and cheering laughable at BOTH the Apple and M$ stores? I mean seriously, I want to laugh at these people... God damn it's a STORE, people. I'd be very embarassed if I was on video getting cheered into a place where I go to spend my hard earned money.

I feel like the next post on Page 2 Rumors will be a "Apple receipt unboxing"... sheesh.

PowerBookRelic -- we're on the same page, lol.

Oh my god, they wear shirts, the nerve of them!

Walk into just about any store and they'll be wearing different shirts.

Walk into a M$ store :

Honestly hadn't noticed such differentiation at other retailers before. The lighting and everything else made the color scheme look spot on.

All this talk about Apple stealing ideas from microsoft and only getting credit for putting it out first is ridiculous. In grade school, we were all studying the same thing, but the kid who finished first obviously had whatever it took to accomplish the full scope of the task before the rest of us. And what does it say when the company that originally comes up with a concept cannot finish it before their competitor not only comes across the information much later than the original company, AND finishes it and puts it into production before them?

I guess without them stealing multi-touch patents, they would not have a Magic Mouse right now, now would they. Don't you also think that Apple may have some spies at Microsoft?

Let's see. Microsoft does a laptop hunters ad where the "real life" ( sic. actors) people go to a "Best Buy" to get a laptop. They look at the Macs but those aren't what they like.

Apple has the best quarter ever.

Microsoft opens a store very close to an Apple store.

hmm..

I'm willing to bet a lot of these people wonder over to the Apple store.

Thanks Microsoft for helping sell a Mac! ;)

I find people replacing "s" with "$" in anything they write about Microsoft here quite funny. You guys do realise that both Microsoft and Apple are publicly traded companies, which exist with the sole purpose to generate money for the benefit of their shareholders, right?

If they open one near me, I'm going to go in every chance I get, and go from computer to computer, cranking up the sound and bringing up various Apple "Get a Mac" ads until they make me leave.

:p

Yeah, but it'd be fun to flash mob an Apple Store with a hundred people bouncing beach balls too :D

mPhone?

I was at Snottsdale Fascist Square yesterday and the food court was crawling with Microsofties of all types. I laughed at one of the employees wearing a "I'm a PC" t-shirt and texting on her iPhone! The store was covered and a security guard was out front so I didn't see inside.

Ahh the folly of man... if she were attractive you wouldn't be saying that. And come on, this is far from just another 'clean' work space or 'boutique' style store. They could've picked a completely different, and original, scheme for their stores. How bout using lots of tempered glass, stainless steel, and other modern elements, with totally different clothing.

How come designer boutiques, who are selling essential the same things as one another, still manage to differentiate themselves from the rest? Why does the Gucci store and the YSL, Chanel, or Dior stores all look completely different than each other?

They need that security. They're afraid of the Apple Hippies getting stoned and throwing bricks at their glass windows. WINDOWS i tell you!

The Greatest Flattery from a Rival is to...

...Copy, plagiarise, and rip off totally that which you could not conceive of your own mind.

This is a demonstration of minds already totally stretched beyond a point that it is required to take that which another has made and attempt to make it their own.

:apple:

That would make way to much sense for MS to do.
