Look at the people who get the cheap android phones en masse - not exactly the most successful or brightest bulbs... k?

they honestly can't help their ignorance.

Half of the iPhones sold are the cheap or free models.

What is your opinion of the people who buy them?

Um, they've earned the right to be smug. They are arrogant, and they know what you want before you do.

All Microsoft can do is, without even having a product, make videos that make fun of the other product directly.

And it wasn't even an advertisement, that's the funny part - they have NOTHING to compare it to of their own.

----------

If you had read the article, Microsoft apologized and pulled the videos.
Please, they tell you what you want and you accepted it.

The very thin neck, the hair cut and color, the black shirt (sure it's not the turtle neck, but w/e) and in particular the context makes it pretty uncanny. He looks more like Steve than Tim, no discussion really.

It can't be Steve. He changes his clothes! Steve rarely did that. Indeed, he was famous for smelling bad.

One of the funniest aspects of the video was the others changing their shirt color to match the color that Tim wore in the previous segment.

It is not Steve. Steve wore the same clothes day after day.

So you must own hundreds of Android phones.

Although the op was being condescending... I must admit, free Android phones are NOT previous gen flagships guaranteed to get the latest updates.... they're garbage phones.

Yes and Apple won big time. Like to see you do better. Apple knows that selling cheap-ass phones to a cheap-ass market is diminishing returns. Go back to Wal-Mart and your Big Macs.

Fully half the phones that Apple sells are "cheap-ass phones to a cheap-ass market". Wallmart is a major partner of Apple, accounting for huge sales in huge swaths of the US.

Just stating the facts.

Pathetic

They actually put more effort into mocking apple than concentrating on their own business. I can understand competitors winding each other up but this is just ridiculous.

Sometimes I wish Apple would fight back against attacks like this.

Why should Apple get in the way of Microsoft's lowering of its own public image?

Sorta like politics, where the conventional wisdom is "If your opponent is destroying himself, keep yer damn mouth shut."

Apple fights back when there's some legal issue, don't worry. This? This is just so beneath a public corporate response. Anyway Microsoft has pulled the ads and acknowledged pulling them, so Apple doesn't need to say word one about it.

Microsoft's 'apology' says 'off the mark'.

At least they are consistent - it's been a long, long time since anything they have made 'hit the mark'.

BOB, Windows phone versions, Zune, Windows 8, Surface, list continues....

Just comes off as sour grapes and very amateurish.

Butt Hurt

Why do all you people get so butt hurt over Microsoft poking fun at apple? I think it's hilarious. I love apple products and have own the iphone since it came out on AT&T but its time for a change. I have the iPhone 5 and my work just gave me a S4 and that phone is awesome. It's just the same sh&t every year from apple. I don't want another iPhone 5 that you put a S on and plated the back with some fake gold.

"That character they call "T" or Tim is clearly supposed to be Steve Jobs."

There are 2 "back of heads" in video - Jonathan Ive and Tim Cook - Are you trying to manufacture controversy?

To me the only tasteless part is that Steve is dead - and his "back of head" character looks about 85 lbs. If they would have been talking to "Johnny Ive" the whole time, I'd have no problem with it.

I gotta agree with the ad. What the hell has Apple been doing the last 6 months? But unfortunately, the iPhone 5C/S will not flop. People will once again line up in droves. I don't understand it. They're not bad phones, but their not innovative.

Apple saw the light a long time ago and others are still trying to catch them. Innovation is not gobs of new features in the mobile space, it's about being predictable. Bleeding edge changes detract from the overall experience and negative experiences drastically limit the real, day to day, utility of the device. They do innovate, but in each new revision those innovations are becoming less and less obvious to the outside.

I'm not a rabid fan and I plan on dropping my iPhone soon. Not because it's not a great device, but because it's being ruined by the carriers. I will move my carrying device to a iPad mini once the new ones are released.

Shouldn't you only mouth off when you have a superior product? WP8 is not superior to iOS. And if it wasn't for Nokia they wouldn't even be on the radar.

How low can you go MS.

On the contrary, have you heard of the bigger the bark, the smaller the bite?

They can't do much else than mouth off precisely because they don't have a way of winning with product.

Haha taking this bitch to 1000 comments!

Man has it gotten ugly in here.

Quite so. And from the dictionary: Dramatic or tragic irony: a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.
