showed up on mine :)
I take it back. The issue is I'm running Mavericks instead of Yosemite. Sorry Microsoft but I'm not upgrading my OS for you. I have nothing against Yosemite (I like it more than Mavericks), I just have a lot of specialty software installed and don't have time to go through it all and make sure it'll work after upgrading.

Here's to hoping the release an actual standalone version without the 365 account. Subscriptions based software is awful.

It's more a mental attitude thing.
Like it or not, all things, be they one off purchased or monthly payments.

You are in effect, over time, paying money for them.
It's just how you perceive it.

The nice thing about subs is that you are always up to date, and they wish to keep you paying, so they keep working.

This is great news! Now hoping they fixed all the Excel issues that can't open 5mb files or larger. Had to replace 2 MBPros because I thought it was the mac, ended up it was Microsoft. 62% downloaded.

Not exactly a quick install....

Did the same thing for me but it actually took only 10 minutes

After running the betas on Yosemite, this software is in no way shape or form ready for prime time...

Agreed! Been running the betas since release and they are far too unreliable/buggy. I have my doubts as to whether they actually fixed everything considering I've had crashes with the most up to date beta.

I find it interesting that it didn't ask for any activation, product key, or Office365 subscribe button. It still worked normally before I added my University college account.
Maybe it was because I used the beta? o_O

I find the subscription price reasonable for what you get (especially since you can add up to 4 members of your household to your account). The storage and integration with OneDrive has worked better for me on the Mac than on my Win 8.1 PC. Also, the price includes unlocking all of the iOS apps, which also integrate very well with OneDrive.

I know many people can get by with iWork. But for those of us who need the power and compatibility of MS Office, this is a very welcome (and a very overdue) release.

Ummm. I just submitted more feedback today for bugs in the beta. It's released to the public now? o_O

I'm a daily (every minute) user of Word / Excel. I've found more reliable experience by saving my documents in the latest format, even the xlsx and docx ones are updated. This did screw up some formatting, but I was able to reduce files sizes, 'unlock' more options that were greyed out in word/excel. I recommend testing your document thoroughly for formatting changes before you go final, particularly if the document format must meet a standardized layout look.
