The Surface Book running OSX is the machine I've been dreaming not about for years. (And will likely be dreaming about for a few more years until someone at Apple finally wakes up and says "Wait, Touch works just fine as an OPTIONAL input method")

This is basically what the iPad Pro + Keyboard is, no?

I have mixed feelings about this new Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book. They seem so damn powerful I mean, 16 GB RAM is something I did never expect to happen so soon with a tablet. And Microsoft just does so. :p

But that price... And I don't like the design of that Surface Book either. xD

MS claims Surface Book is more powerful than MacBook Pro which maybe true until next generation processors are introduced in an upgraded MacBook Pro.

That's twisted, circular logic. That's like saying the Macbook will ALWAYS be more powerful than whatever any current system, because, you know there's a new chipset coming out in 5 yrs and MS. I mean who is to say based on your statement that MS wouldn't come out with a new Surface that has better specs the minute a new Macbook comes out NEXT year?

The Surface Book is what I'd want from the iPad pro in the perfect world, except the keyboard half would run OSX and the tablet half iOS until you couple them together.

Nice to see MS experimenting with things.

Also.. Some people seem to be inexplicably bad at running windows. Ive not had stability issues in years. Admittedly i use my Mac for many things but I love my windows boxes too.

Yeah, but the current Surfacebook is actually faster (2 times according to MS) and it already EXISTS - contrary to the future Macbook pro, so please don't compare apples with peaches (pun intended). Besides that, as the Surfacebook has a discrete GPU, the 13" MBP will never catch up.

microsoft has that mid 2000 apple vibe going on!
stoked for the surface pro 4....like why would you choose the ipad pro over this? its got all the pro apps already.
and pen is better than pencil lol

not sure id go for the surface book though, the retina mbp is still the gold standard.

I was just thinking the same thing about Microsoft seems to be doing what  used to do but then there's windows 10. lol
iPad Pro , isn't to me a pro unit until it can run a full copy of Logic X and third party plug ins .

It's hard to tell what the iPad pro and  TV can really do though the demos in September were some of the worst ones I've ever seen  do. I'm not going to even mention the watch presentation .

Btw on the  TV when those guys showed there dumb game I was thinking damn does anyone remember frogger ?

YAWN, seriously they ape'd the macbook pro so close then totally ruined it with that awful hinge and hinge gap! The major downside of all this MS tech is windows, which stinks so bad, especially on a phone. They really are gonna feel so much pain on all these products as they fail to sell in any meaningful numbers at any meaningful prices. MS should just sell office and be done with it.
Biased much? I get that this is a Mac forum, but come on, have some class. Windows 10 is incredibly smooth and is by far my favorite iteration. Office is actually my least favorite Microsoft software, but Windows 10 has finally brought form and function to Windows.

I'm not a fan of that laptop design. And why two devices? I thought Surface was all about one device that could be everything?
