Of course they do. They crash, get viruses, and have the most obnoxious notification system in earth.

My mac doesn't do any of that :/

"most obnoxious notification system in earth." This gets me the most. I get it, I'm not using win10, I don't want to OKAY! Stop telling me every other day to switch, with your little pop-up.

The thing I like most about the Mac is I can run OS X, Windows 10, Linux and other OS's on it and some all at the same time using Parallels 11.

I would like to have a new headless Mac with a quad core chip and a good GPU so I can use my own choice of displays without spending a fortune on a Mac Pro. Just bring back the quad core Mini.

Kind of surprising to see the market leader with around 90% share going on the offense against a tiny competitor in terms of market share. Guess even Microsoft knows who's making most of the money in the PC hardware market.

I switched over to Mac back in 2011 after using Windows basically my entire life. Now I won't touch that OS except when I'm forced to for work.

I've had the opposite experience with Windows 10. I use it at work and at home and it works very well for me.
Shhhh!! it's not cool to say that the newer version are better, people like the old way of bashing Winblows!! Are you crazy? It's from Micro$oft (i hate when they call it that :D)!!

On a serious note I too have good experience with Win 10 at work, the best Windows yet!

Microsoft, you forgot: "We also show advertisements when your screensaver turns on! Can your useless Mac do that? Not in a million years!"
Never happened here, are you sure you do not have a pirated "special" edition?

It is weird someone would use such anti-intuitive OS as Windows with awesome alternatives like the Mac. Even more, Mac OS X is free for everyone. Clearly, it is inertia (as was with DOS vs Mac). Once you try Mac, you never go back!
Unless you like to play games. I'm running windows on all my macs (booting in mac os once in a year to upgrade it :) ) - and lack of decent gpu in latests iMacs forced me to build pc boxes for myself and son, wife still using macbook, as she doesn't play games.

I am a teacher. That business about bugs is dumb. I have had students bring in touch screen pc's and tried them out. my hand and arm started hurting in 2-3 minutes. Steve was right once upon a time when he discussed how impractical a touch laptop is.

I appreciate strong competition and a light jab between billionaire companies, but this sounds like a bunch of nothing.

Holy cow, why do people insist on starting OS wars around here? I mean, I see people going out of their way to exaggerate problems with OS X and bring up problems with Windows that haven't been problems for years.

Windows 10 and OS X are both solid operating systems with minor flaws. No need to claim superiority for your OS of choice.

If you're just running Windows on them anyway, my I ask: why get iMacs?

Another thing that Microsoft does more of. Plus viruses, Microsoft do viruses better.
I'm jealous my Mac don't do that.

Depending on what you need... both OSX and Windows can be good options. Not black and white, but shades of grey.

Windows would certainly be better - for example games - which I use windows for. Dual boot.

For work, OSX is definitely the better option. Software development on Windows is just tedious. I'd like fingerprint authentication on my Macbook Pro....

And yes, I'd like a touch screen on a laptop too. I wouldn't necessarily use it all the time, but there are cases which I'd certainly find it very useful.

A touchscreen on a Macbook would be good - the form factor is there to make it not too uncomfortable.

That's great... but Macs make up a tiny part of Apple's revenue. Their share of the PC market is small anyway. Everyones knows Windows is much larger. Why not show us why Windows phones can do more than iPhones, the product that Apple relies on for over half of its revenue? Oh, right, that's why.

The only thing I wish that the Mac had that Windows 10 PCs currently have is a biometric authentication method such as a Touch ID sensor or Intel RealSense camera. This would fit right at home with the security angle Apple has been pushing in recent years.

And seeing as the Mac is about to get Siri soon enough, Cortana is a moot point anyway.

Yes, well that's a stupid ad. No need to perpetuate that junk around here. Inevitably, these discussions always end up with people flat out lying about the other operating system. It's like politics without any of the glory or power.

Then blame Microsoft for producing them or MR for publishing an article surrounding them, not the users for discussing the ads.

Hence why I switched over to Windows 10. It's a phenomenal OS. And Cortana is pure win.

Well, I guess I should clarify... I'm not talking about discussing the ads in particular. I mean, that's obviously what this specific thread is for. But I think it's somewhat petty to make up things and exaggerate flaws about either operating system just because MS threw a pathetic looking stone.

But hey, MacRumors is gonna be MacRumors, right?

I liked apple hardware, but not software (mainly obsession with control and knowing what I want better than me). I've switched from iMac to self built pc with GTX 970 (but I still use MBA when travel, again with windows), switched from iPhone to big screen android long before apple introduced 6+, the only apple hardware which I still use a lot is iPad (currently Air, and iPads 3 & 1 still used by family) - but now there are good non apple tablets, so there is a chance that next tablet also will be not from apple.

But then they introduce an ipad pro and kb that offers that same impractical experience with no trackpad so you have to touch the screen.
