I have a large team and I expect them to unplug and unwind so they have a life outside of work. In the long run, no one will remember if you were not always available. But your kids will know if you missed their important events. And you expect to keep your job? just asking....we live on it and management can see when you're not on
See, I'm the opposite. I occasionally goof off during the work day, so being able to take a teams call while on my way to the store is fantastic for me.I don't need Teams everywhere.
I log off of Teams all the time during the work day.
This constant connection crap needs to stop.
Well then you’ve never used Cisco’s Jabber.TEAMS is by far the worst product I am forced to use.
Came here to say this, disappointed it wasn't mentioned. Teams runs 8 hours a day for me on my laptop, and it would be great if it was optimized for Apple Silicon like the rest of the Office Suite.Waiting patiently for an Apple Silicon version to drop.
Can’t Tesla’s just run carplay and Android auto? Why distract themselves with developing an AppStore etc when the company just needs to focus on improving the overall technology of the car itself as a priority?Agree. I really do hope that Tesla comes out with an App Store where we are able to select native apps like this as well as expand the streaming radio services (2018 Model S owner).
That is so true!TEAMS is by far the worst product I am forced to use.
So how is this any different than the calls feature baked into the iPhone/Carplay?Just what we need - more distracted drivers. For those who use a vehicle as an office, this should only work if the car is parked!
That's a pretty irresponsible feature. I'd rather see them spend their energy in better collaboration features instead of luring people into start using teams while driving a car.
For many, Teams is their phone system.I don't need Teams everywhere.

Skype for Business already had this, it's a phone system after all. There's nothing like what you're thinking happening. This seems like a really really bad idea. On both a safety and psychological level.
So many people are missing what's going on here...That's a pretty irresponsible feature. I'd rather see them spend their energy in better collaboration features instead of luring people into start using teams while driving a car.

Is it just me or is Teams becoming the next IBM Notes? It’s doing way too much and is overly bloated.
Ooooh... this sounds nice.
Tesla and Microsoft should work on bringing Teams to Tesla's vehicles. As always, Tesla should avoid having Apple/Google's middleware crap in between - actual native apps made by a competent developer are far superior to CarPlay, which is like having a Mac run Remote Desktop to access Microsoft Office.
It doesn't do messages in the car.I think people are more concerned with the messages coming through. Data suggest that CarPlay messages are actually more distracting than texting and driving.
It's actually becoming a single portal for all of M365. That's the intended end goal for Teams, email will be there next and Outlook will start to work its way out the door. The guy who designed the original Outlook app is actually the same person designing Teams. Is it just me or is Teams becoming the next IBM Notes? It’s doing way too much and is overly bloated.
What about using the built in notification system? Or respecting system dark mode?
Agreed. The response is hilarious. I already use Teams with CarPlay. This is just slightly deeper integration. Nobody is forcing you to use Teams in your car. If you don't want to use it, log out. For those of us who find making work phone calls while driving useful, it's absolutely no different than any other phone call.So many people are missing what's going on here...
The people that would use this are the same people that would connect to the meeting using the app and their camera while driving. I've been in meetings where someone calls in from their car with the camera on, so this would be a little better than that. That article does a good job at explaining why talking is still a distraction. You end up having to multitask and juggle your focus on the road, listening to the speaker, forming responses in your head, and speaking them back. Just because your eyes are on the road during a call doesn't mean your headspace is, and accidents can happen so fast that even what we think is just a small distraction can still be pretty major.
