Horrible, Yes the competition will make the iPhone stronger and better but Microsoft fails at everything.

Gosh does originality ever get around the Microsoft office. . . guess not :apple:

Surely if Verizon has a Microsoft phone then Apple will come to it's senses and not allow Verizon to sell the iPhone.

Please Apple do not sell out the iPhone to Verizon!

Microsoft Phune

So they have the Zune ... guess we can look for to the Phune.

Microsoft is not competition to the iPhone just like they were no competition to the iPod.

MS is a follower, not a leader. They should really focus on getting that operating system stuff working well. Perhaps the mobile version Phista will be running on it.

No please do. I need an iPhone but dont wanna go to ATT. Verizon IMO has a better network. Everyone i know has verizon and i have unlimited txting for a really good deal with my family plan.

That's you. There are quite a few people who don't want to see the iPhone on Verizon, possibly more than those who do. I'm getting sick of all these people begging here for it to go to whatever carrier they use. Just stop complaining - Apple will go with whatever provider they wish.

And this just proves that there is no way the iPhone is going to Verizon any time soon. Hope you like having your hopes smashed.

Coming from an AT&T Tilt, with 6.0 Windows OS to my iPhone 3g, they have leaps and bounds to make before that OS can compete with the iPhone, let alone take customers from AT&T.

Its funny how all this Verizon news has somewhat shadowed the the upcoming release of Sprint's Pre.

You might want to look up the word "innovation" in the dictionary. Pushing your product in everybody's face is not "innovation". That's called a "monopoly".

Okay, fine. Here's the definition from the dictionary.

innovate v. to make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas or products.

Like it or not, Microsoft innovated with the GUI-based OS in the form of Windows by making it run on a wide array of hardware, i.e., a new method and product as per the dictionary definition. And if pushing your product in everyone's face is a "monopoly," (which it isn't--may want to grab for that dictionary you're so keen on referring others to) you're pretty much going to have to start accusing Apple of having a monopoly in regards to the iPhone and iPod which is silly, needless to say.

Do we really need another PHONE?? Why doesn't MS make something new and original? That might get them somewhere.

You could have said the exact same thing about the iPhone back when Apple introduced it. In fact, many did point out that there were existing products that were better at the time. How exactly does that matter?

But...

That's you. There are quite a few people who don't want to see the iPhone on Verizon, possibly more than those who do.

Those of us in cities where ATT coverage SUCKS...Like San Diego and large chunks of San Francisco and other sections of the Bay Area would strongly disagree with you. :D

To each his own, but I've had no complaints with ATT since switching from Verizon in June 2007. It seemed like every other month our Verizon bill was screwed up and it was almost impossible to get them to fix it. No problems like that with ATT. In my experience, ATT's customer service has been great and the network is fine.

OMG Apple Tablet

i hope the apple tablet is released worldwide this summer as a giant iPod Touch based style with full Mac OS X and full touch screen (i.e. like iPod Touch or iPhone), not really bothered about iPhone "lite" it doesnt make sense... this is not Apple, the iPod Nano was a more portable version of the iPod Classic, however it is arguably more feature full than the iPod Classic.... please dont release a iPhone "Lite" but RELEASE AN APPLE TABLET so i will have something to spend money on this summer lol :D xx

Why wouldn't Apple sell to Verizon?

Did they refuse ATT, just because ATT still sells tons of Blackberries and WinMo phones (with more features, even) ? Hardly.

It'd be a lonely business for Apple if they wanted to be the only smartphone maker on any carrier. They can't compete with others if they don't show up to the party.

The more companies innovating, the better Apple has to make the iPhone. Competition is good, people!
+1 This is why American car companies are sinking. They always copy the current gen of Euro cars and as such are always five years behind.

I support Apple and all, but Microsoft is 10 times the size of Apple (probably more), you won't see Microsoft going anywhere for a long time.

Im interested to see a zune phone, don't think it will turn many people away from an iPhone, though.

MS has a 177 billion market cap, Apple 115 as of now...10x what? The behemoth times are over for MS. They will be small peanuts sooner than later...so that SJ can even offer a buffoon job to Steve Ballmer later.

lets hope thay do not forget to put 3 control buttons on the side..

Control + alt + delete :p

on a serious note, I don't realy believe the rumour

And those of us who live in cities where Verizon sucks but at&t is decent, such as Chicago, greatly disagree with you.

You'd think that they would work on that considering we're a major transporation hub, major industrial center, etc...

Apple went to Verizon first, I believe, and Verizon didn't agree to their terms.
Not that this has anything to do with this post.
