Hidden Agendas Everywhere!

Anyone remember how Jon Stewart outed Jim Cramer for making up rumors to manipulate the market? That's kind of what I feel is going on now. Someone at Verizon is about to sell a lot of stock, and they want their best bang for the buck...

Totally agree! Every company has their own hidden agenda to manipulate each other, their customers, and for their own personal (read stock options) gain. I suppose this is what a free market is all about.

I don't beleive most of these rumors...especially when they do not reference any names....just 'people close to the deal'.

Why can't they focus on the things they're good at? Microsoft Live Labs is innovative. Photosynth is awesome, yet they treat this stuff as a hobby. I wish they would get out of their "our answer to" phase, slim down their company, flush Balmer, pluck an exec out of Live Labs and start contributing to the changing landscape of tech, rather than drafting behind the leaders who are actually paving the way. This would be good for everyone.

Now, I hope this does go thru. MS and Verizon, keep the crap & copying together. AT&T and Apple will surely come through with their innovation and great service(AT&T is not much of an innovator, but they sure provide that pipeline we need;)).

DIE IN A FIRE VERIZON!!

Please, all aboard the FAIL BOAT!

Who does Microsoft think they're kidding? And not for nothing, but does anyone think Verizon would be dumb enough to pursue that instead of picking up the iPhone? Verizon has been after the iPhone since day 1 and are probably in talks with Apple as we speak.

And I hope Verizon never gets the iPhone.

Why can't they do both? They already carry Blackberry phones. I don't know if the rumors are true or not, but if they are in talks with Apple over the iPhone then that will add another smart-phone to their lineup. Why not an MS phone as well?

Personally, I'm looking forward to an MS phone with a mobile version of Songsmith on it! I kid, I kid.

Remember this - Microsoft does own Danger now. It's been expected that they would do something with the Danger software and development team and this might be it.

The Danger guys aren't bad and know what they're doing - it's just those Sharp Sidekicks suck.

seriously M$, fix vista, fix 7, and stop saturating the market with your half-assed crap.

100 half-assed products is not better than 1 good product.

"In this corner...."

Microsoft/Verizon vs Apple/ATT vs Palm/Sprint

Let the fight begin. The winner is already known.......us :)

Hopefully this kills the Apple + Vernon rumors seeing as i doubt Apple would want to "share the spotlight" with Microsucks on Verizon.

This will fail. Just like the the Zune, and the Google Android. Nothing can stop the iPhone/iPods.
The iPod/Zune comparison doesn't really apply here because it has nothing to do with business users (the bulk of Microsoft's customer base, a.k.a. their biggest cash cow). Apple tried to kiss up to businesses by using MS Exchange compatibility as one of the main sales points for the iPhone, but the reception has been lukewarm (much unlike the reception among consumers). A phone straight from MS, on the other hand, could sell like hotcakes to business users. If it's like an iPhone but with total integration with Windows in general and Office/Exchange in particular, businesses will buy them by the pallet.

I would buy an iPhone in a second and would be more than happy to be on AT&T the problem is if you don't even have AT&T in your area then it's not gonna happen. I live in Bend OR. I seriously don't think it's that obscure of a city...

Verizon on the other hand does absolutely suck. For the short period of time in which I did have them they were the worst carrier I'd ever experienced. Nothing bothers me more than when a sales rep will treat you like an absolute idiot. I was told that in order to get service you have to be within less than a quarter mile of their towers! Their service sucks in every way.

It occurred to me today when reading this: when was the last time Microsoft was actually innovative? Windows has copied OS X for years, the Zune copied iPod, IE has been copying Firefox, now and iPhone rival. I also they might be opening their own social network site. Is Microsoft just completely clueless at this point?

They already opened they social networking site. Its call Windows Live Spaces... its not advertised much, but if you sign in to your Hotmail account you can see status on people in your MSN network. You can create your profile and upload pics and pic galleries.
