What about 70% of the web?
What 70% of the web are you using? I've had only one site in the past year where I needed Flash.
What about 70% of the web?
Maybe they could make it duel boot into Windows Phone 7 for people who want that.
I don't use my iPad for productivity and when I have I found myself wishing for a laptop. I think Apple found the right niche for the tablet...M$ thinks that there is a huge latent market for people who want productivity on a tablet...I think they're sadly mistaken. Anybody who has had to type a while on a tablet will tell you if you're going to be doing a lot of typing and manipulating that a laptop is simply a better option.
It will be nice to see what M$ unveils though...however I think whatever they do is going to look clunky next to the upcoming iPad2.
I am quite sure it is not hard to laugh at m$'s attempt at a slate![]()

the moment Pages can save to .doc or .docx and Numbers can save .xls
i would switch, otherwise iWork is just DOA
Ha! Good luck with the relaunch no hair. Kin the sequel.
Rudy, you sound like a very knowledgable person. Would you care to explain how and when HTML5 can fully replace Flash as delivery platform for apps based on custom interactive vector animation? Something Flash was doing for past 15 years.
Well I would start by not putting Flash in the ad as the major selling point against the competition. that is just silly. That is just appealing to people who dislike Apple, and basically they are already sold on the competition. What a waste of money that ad campaign is.
Why not pointing it out that you could play games outside App Store, or view vector animation? Since you were claiming Flash will die soon I was thinking you know how to replace it with other technology / tools.
Flash will die or Adobe will fix it. I suspect the latter. Some say the criticism of Adobe is unwarranted but if it makes them better then it is a good thing.
It's clunky, but you can e-mail the file to yourself and then work on it with Pages or another mobile office suite. Or you could send it to Google Docs and work on it there.
Maybe this is MS's solution;

Nitpick: is it right to say MS is "relaunching" slates "again"? Either they are relaunching them, or they are launching them again.
I am a fan of the Yankees. I am a fan of Apple. In my mind, those are the same. There is nothing wrong with being a fanboy, so long as you don't let it cloud you from the truth, although it works the other way too. Haters should not let their hate for Apple cloud their judgment either, but haters will be haters, and fanboys will be fanboys.
I'm not an MS basher, I actually really like their Office suite, and I don't mind Windows 7, as far as Windows OS's go.
But I have to say that I'm surprised that a guy like Ballimer is still at the helm. They don't really innovate anymore, almost embarrassingly so. It seems like they wait and find out what others make, and then put their own spin on it.
Time for some new, shrewd, younger and more tech savvy blood in MS.
I don't want MS to go away. Apple need competition, big time.
