The next MS ad...

Bill's in a tattoo parlour.

Getting a "W" on each cheek.

Jerry walks in and says "hey Bill, what ya doing?"

Bill bends over and it now says "WOW".

Jerry goes, "ah, I get it. the wow starts now was a sh*thouse idea..."

Mostly what I'm taking away from that is that MS = crappy shoes, but I'm from the UK so I don't know the shoe store brand.

Or ... all you have to do to impress people is wear leather - doesn't have to be well stitched together or anything, just has to cost more but at a discount price (ARGHH!! The message is confusing)

Mac vs. PC ads aren't necessary now

With Microsoft pumping out ads like this with lack of substance (implying PCs have lack of substance) this should push more people into buying Macs. It seems to me Apple can stop the Mac vs. PC ads and let Microsoft dig their own grave.

Not to mention, remember all the Seinfeld episodes where he had a Mac on his desk? What was Microsoft thinking?

What a train wreck.

Seinfeld is the best tv series I ever watched.

Anyone who has watched it knows that Jerry always had a mac in his apartment.
And I highly doubt that he uses vista or any kind of window flavor.
If apple could hire Newman and Kramer to have a nice and more funny ads where they run one of their 'successful enterprises' with MS products...They will need Larry to script/produce...

About this ad:my first reaction is that I don't want to eat churros anymore, neither buy shoes.

Can someone tell me which bits are funny, because the 'humour' went right over my head. Maybe it's because I'm a Brit?

Not bad - like others have said, doesn't really tell you anything about Windows. It's much more of an brand/image spot for MS. Large company being personable.

Is this for real?

Well, perhaps it is best to kill it before it breeds.

WOW!

There really is a "Shoe Circus." It must be the only real thing in the commercial.

i can't believe i just wasted 1:30 of my life. let's pay seinfeld $10M to help rejuvenate our image but only show and talk about it for two seconds.

After which he proceeds to do a handstand - so it then spells "MOM".

it's B movie 2

without any sting at all :)

(unless you count getting $10 million for doing it. hahaha.)

but at least we are talking about MS - which is one step up from ignoring them...

Subliminal messages maybe? Lol someone play of backwards or slow it down cuz I'm not getting it. Clown theme/music doesn't work for me I HATE CLOWNS!!!! Are they try to sell shoes to the Asian communities? Or encourage wearing shoes when u shower? The "signal" was pretty fruity too... Well the churro too... Nice phallic symbol there... Lol

????

What a horrible commercial. It took me a few seconds to realize it was for Microsoft, and then it showed and spoke to nothing, except a potential edible computer.

And personally, I think Apple's name lends itself to design one first...

Well, it looks like the ad was a success at least here on MacRumors...how long did it take to reach 22 pages of comments... :)

Doesn't matter how good or bad it is, or if you even understand it, the point is to make us remember and think about Microsoft products and that it seems to have accomplished.

I thought the ad was relatively funny, I wish they would do something like Gates' appearance on Family Guy - "What's a quarter?" - that would be great!

Uh, whut?...

That was easily the dumbest thing I've ever seen, and I like Jerry Seinfeld. How did that have anything to do with Windows or Microsoft?

I think this campaign of theirs is going to backfire... unless their target demographic are people with that "word salad" disorder... (no offense)

I was just going to write that without the canned laughter the whole thing feels very odd. Then I realized, this is Microsoft and we know where they get all their R&D ... this is a pilot and they are wanting us Apple folks to critique it so they can use our ideas to improve it.

Nice, but it's too clever for its own good. Evidently way too clever for most Apple customers, judging from the comments, haha.

Take it within a context to come?

Amusing. Entertaining. Nice.

I agree with previous posters: it doesn't sell anything or ask you to do anything. But it was entertaining.

If I can assume for a minute that the people who put this ad campaign together are smart, then I can further assume that as more commercials are rolled out in this campaign then, taken together, they will begin to make sense with respect to selling Vista.

I can only hope that more of these commercials means fewer of those awful Nationwide commercials where the Granny beats up the kid in the parking lot!
