Peace from Love

I really don't get it.....

An ad about nothing for a product that contains nothing... Brilliant

They're dying in their own making, let them vent their anger, their a dying mess of a dictatorship. Thanks Apple for what your accomplishing,we're glad your with us.Thankyou from all who love you,we're sick of being walked over "peace from love"

LOL - what if MacRumors had been around in 1984...

Can you imagine the uproar if the Chiat/Day "1984" commercial had comments by the jokers here?

- WTF?
- What's with the hammer?
- It's too short (30 sec, should have been 60 sec)
- Why does the chick have small boobs?
- Why isn't she wearing a bikini?
- The product name should have been mentioned 3 times
- EPIC FAIL!
- SUPER FAIL!
- FAIL!
- Did we say FAIL?

;)

LOL, so you somehow figure that peoples with more respect of women than the americans somehow would demand that a woman should be present in any and all ads? I'm sorry, but that notion is showing a _lack_ of respect for woman. It's chauvinistic in nature (which it would still be had you demanded that men should be present in all adverts).

Yeah right …

As the mouse said to the elephant while crossing the bridge:

"Man, listen to our stomping!"

Your commentary is revealing-how much longer do women and "minorities" have to be treated like apes or children. Doesn't the "persuit of justice" ring "Any" liberty bells from your narrow life.Women and all are human beings worthy of fair representation. Swallow it you blind god foresaken, monetarily confused Prejudiced hater.

There's no better way to re-energize your brand that to sign-up a spokesperson that is virtually unknown to people under 35!

...seriously, what?...

Okay, that commercial was downright weird. All it proved to me is that Jerry Seinfeld has a sweet tooth and that Bill Gates still buys shoes from the same place he did as a kid. How can Microsoft's future be sweet if they're scrambling to cover up for the failure that was Windows Vista? ugh.

im guessing their wanting their customers to be as loyal as bill is with his shoes :p ;)

Please check the sales figures for OSX 10.5, and the sales figures for Vista - then figure out how to apply the word "failure" to those numbers.

From your sig, I'm guessing that English is your native tongue. Too bad that your post doesn't show that.

If you're a recent immigrant to Australia - accept my congratulations on your writing, but keep attending the English classes. (Also, most of my time in Australia has been spent in QLD - if NSW speaks a different language from QLD accept my apologies for making a comment.)

I've seen it a few times now, and while I don't think it's good, I can see where they might be going with it. It's just an absurd start to getting Gates and Seinfeld together for future commercials where they will actually talk about Vista. Not that it's going to change my mind...

When we all agree the ads suck this thread will be over, not before.

You argue and argue about the echoing thunder and yet miraculously fail to see the lightning!

If you really mean that, it's about time you tried using arguments instead of unfounded claims as you have done up until now.

But I guess that's too much to ask

Edit:

I see you tried after all. But reading this has me wondering:

I'm sorry to break it to you, but "fair representation" doesn't mean that any and all adverts should include both genders, nor that it should include any and all races, ages, and people with no disabilities to the most extremes.
I think it's time you came down from that high horse of yours. But I guess you would have to mowe yourself through all that **** you dropped.

Where do you see me "hating"?
Where do you see me being "prejudiced"?
"Pursuit of justice" doesn't mean that, say, in a ad we HAVE to have women. Nor that we HAVE to have men. Especially in a commercial like this.
How on earth does seeing this in more than monochrome black and white means I have a "narrow life"? For all intents and purposes, you're the one who can't seem to see the forest because of all the trees. I guess it's easier to focus on a single tree, though …

I particularly like your claim that by NOT having a woman in this ad, women are treated like apes and children (!!!). I think I'll put that down to a freudian slip of yours.

Ah boy,I guess if you force me into a dark corner I better at least try to repeat myself!!!!

No, just capitalists looking to make a buck at the expense of others.
Oh, I get it now. And you're basing all that off there being no women in the MS-ad.
That truly is some great thinking there. And you come to that conclusion by way of argumentation?

No, that's right, apparently you aren't even capable of such a thing – it's much easier just to claim something – particularly if you at the same time can attack people for all sorts of things, be it narrowmindedness, prejudice, being "god forsaken" (lol), being chauvinistic, hating, being unjust, and you ace: Being capitalist looking to make a buck off of others.

Haha, I'm sorry, but that is utterly pathetic.

Well,we can all keep living in believing that things will change but until we see what's right under our noses, not much will change!

You STILL don't have a clue, do you?

It's not a matter of "believing in change" or not. Your idea that the MS-add is sexist/chauvinistic for NOT including a woman is pure nonsense.
I think you should reread my posts. Because you obviously don't get even the basic simple things.

And this one is simply irrational dreamy wishful thinking that I somehow bought into your parallel effed up fantasy world:

I'm glad you now get it,wish I four get the ad!

I mean, how do you even navigate in the real world?

This just cannot be allowed to continue!

So, your own opinion that women are inferior is somehow projected to everyone. And by extension in your parallel world, ANY advert that doesn't feature a women is sexist/chauvinistic.

Surely, only in your parallel fantasy world does that one makes sense.

Anyway, you're right. It cannot go on, so I think you just stop with your nonsense.

shareholders don't care what the money is from as long as it is pouring in.

lol, that's my point exactly. Shareholders "confidence" in a stock doesn't mean much in the long run. It doesn't mean that Apple ISN'T putting all their eggs in the iPod basket.

Women voting for equality!

and that is the one mistake in my book.

I would love just once for them to dump Justin Long in an ad. seriously. I love the guy as "Mac" but just once they need an ad with an older guy, an even younger than Justin guy (a kid even I dare say) and some girls (same range of ages). Because I walk into my local Apple store and it's all ages/all types and that's one thing they don't ever seem to reflect in the ads.

When are people like you going to recognize peoples strengths rather than their weaknesses?

When are people like you going to recognize peoples strengths rather than their weaknesses?

Great. Ignorance in a 50-50 mix with a holier-than-thou attitude, delivered in the most irrelevant and arrogant fashion possible.

What's funny is that you are propably not aware of the irony in your remark.

Are you really that stupid!Apple is making a fortune off of it's computers, your iPod crazy!

Speaking of ironic remarks from your hand.

1) I'm not iPod crazy. I actually dislike the iPod and what the success have done to Apple, the computer company.

2) the iPod is the one attracting customers. Ever heard of the halo effect?

3) the iPod is what the Walkman was for a while 20 years ago.

4) when a company puts all their eggs in one basket, how do you think they'll fare when that basket is dropped?

5) It's funny. You're calling me stupid, but in your eager to counter me, you missed the mark by miles, showing, once again, you don't even have the basic tools to comprehend the most simple of things.

Edit:
I missed your headline once again:
Me thinks your a few BILLION dollars wrong!Ha Ha@you!!!!

How do you think they manage to make billions? Brand awareness, perhaps? From being the "iPod company", perhaps?

Do some research, it will do you good.

i like it.....
why does it have to be all about vista? why does it have to be about vista at all. its just microsoft in general maybe... and showing that bill gates... is a regular guy that shops for shoes like everyone else... and seinfield throwing in a bit of comic relief... amazing! im tired of hearing about products and all the features and all the specs, and how its made... i already know Microsoft and i already like it.... they dont need to sell me some ******** to make me keep with them... i enjoyed watching it... and seinfield makes me laugh... then at the end it shows microsoft.... cool i like seinfield, i like comfortable shoes, i lke microsoft. done!

and as for the dude on the first page with the ''big bank commercial job" i dont like you, i dont know you but i dont like you!
