Scene: PC walks into frame from left, pulling a red radio flyer wagon with a large window on it.

Mac: PC! Whats with the wagon?
PC: Well, Mac, it seems we are going without walls over here. No need for windows if you have no walls…
Mac:......

any suggestions?

Not at the same as Apple versions

Simply put, Microsoft need to cater to a more creative market. If they did that, I'd get one. Thing is, the reason I like Macs is because they are aimed at creative professionals.

This campaign has a different focus than Mac ads. It is not necessarily trying to get Apple users to feel Windows is superior (though if some are so easily duped, the additional sales are welcomed).

Microsoft already has 98 percent of the worldwide market. The goal is to keep existing sheepish customers in the fold by reassuring them they are in the majority therefore must be doing the right thing. (In-the-know Mac users recognize that majority does not always equal best.)

If Apple ads weren't making inroads, this response would not be necessary. Since Apple started the volley, Microsoft has made an appropriate return. I give them credit for a good game.

I'm a PC....& a Mac

I just happen to be a PC and a Mac, I resisted Apple for a long time but with the iPhone came a macbook and I do enjoy them both. The bottom line is some stuff still just works better on my desktop PC. I'm happy with both. I think this new ad for Windows is much better, simple, intuitive, & refreshing.

I'm...

I'm a PC, and I am an orthodox user... That's what MS wants you to be.

I'm a Mac and I am an activist and innovative user...

Nice ad, but still... vista is.. well.. vista.

Yeh, I have to admit its an "ok" response.
But it doesn't tell me I need to go out and buy a PC.
It doesn't give me any advantages that a PC has over a Mac.

I think it a good and positive ad from Microsoft.

I am surprised to see how 'San Francisco liberals' hate negative advertising when it comes from Karl Rove but love it when it come from Apple or B Hussein Obama.
Hypocrites.

An ad concept for Microsoft

We here at Microsoft are proud of our Windows operating system. Windows is by far the worlds most used operating systems. Hundreds of millions of people around the world use it everyday.

We are particularly happy that our friends over at Apple are doing so well with their computer sales. One of the things we are proudest of is that among apple computer users, one of their most popular downloads is a program that makes their computers work like a PC. And why do apple users want their computers to work like a PC? So that they can run Windows!

It doesn't need to. One of the biggest advantages is, of course (and surprisingly to most of the wannabe "creative" individuals) is that you're not locked into a specific hardware vendor's whims, aims, goals, offerings, nor their quality (or lack thereof) of said hardware.
One could even argue that by having more opportunities to choose what YOU want, you're less of a sheep. Unlike Apple (and any other vendor) fanboys. :D

i just saw the first one, it was good "response" to apple's ads but it wasn't funny. When watching the Hello i'm a mac ads you know the characters and that they do something *funny* this was more serious... Kind of like all work and no play

Now I didn't read through this whole thread, but the first thing that came to mind when I finished watching the ad was: "Life without walls? How can you even HAVE windows without walls?"

Ok Eva and Tony are definately Mac I should know I sold Tony a Macbook Pro and Eva a Macbook. I guess money talks... The whole spurs team is MAC

Boring ads that do nothing!

So MS shifts to it's users to avoid dealing with the attacks in the Apple ads. Apples ads are about MS's PC's not their users. This just goes to show that MS has no defense and the add does nothing to stop Apple continueing with their attack on PC's. You would expect Microsoft to take this head on -didn't happen.

They dont seem to get it, the Apple Mac vs. PC ads actually said things about the computers, but Microsoft's knock-off is just random B$.

A nice idea, but I aggree with other users that they can't just keep this one up for every mac advert - they haven't really said what they can do with a pc, though i guess MS don't need to do that if they're in the majority

So is this the first MS news article to ever have more positive votes than negatives?

Apples ads are about MS's PC's not their users.
Thats BS and you know it. I could just as easily say these commercials are not about their users, but all the varied uses PC has, but I wont because Im not in denial like some people are about the mac ads.

PC comes in from left holding a couple small windows in front of him
Mac: Hey PC! What's with the windows?
PC: I have become enlightened and realized I don't need walls!
PC straining to keep the windows held up right
Mac: Aren't you arms getting a little tired?
PC(straining): Can't... Drop... Windows
PC grunts and drops windows
Mac: Hmm, looks like your windows crashed...

;)
