just spent all D8MN morning on the phone with Apple and AT&T and neither is taking responsibility... Apple says AT&T is having data issues.
AT&T says that Apple's safari server has gone down and there is nothing they can do.
This is just getting ridiculous.
I'm on the phone now to see if I can get my early termination fee waived and get out of my contract.

Well, Mail does not work either, so I cry foul at AT&T saying it is Apple's Safari Server.....

This is B.S. they should fix this, how annyoing to pay for something you can't even use. Nothing is working on my phone

That's odd. I got transferred to some special technical support person, and he filed a "trouble ticket" thing and just said that it was a noted nationwide issue. Of course, I got disconnected halfway through the call, but I'm guessing he has enough information.

This is my first month with AT&T and I can't say I'm all that impressed.

In Englewood Cliffs, NJ... Edge has full bars yet nothing loads. I really hope this means something is getting fixed. We're paying a fortune for this service. This really sucks. Hard earned money out the window for this service.:(

I just received an email from my corporate IT Department. We have over 4,000 company-issued Treos and HTC Tilts in the wild, mainly on the East Coast. All run on the AT&T Network. All have no data, and the communication is that there is an AT&T Network Outage, and there is no timetable yet for a return to service.

So it's not an iPhone issue and it's clearly an AT&T problem.

Glad I saw this first. Was going to do a backup and a restore thinking something strange had occurred with 2.0.2. I started seeing flaky things since the end of last week.

I know it's not an issue with the iPhone hardware, but the person I spoke to said it was specifically with iPhone data. But, judging by the posts in this thread about AT&T's crazy customer support stories, I wouldn't be surprised if it was all phones' data.

I am in York, PA and both EDGE and 3G are completely out. Sunny skies tell me that Gustav has nothing to do with this...

Yeah, unfortunately everyone I know with AT&T either has an iphone or doesn't have data.

They told you that Apple's Safari server was down and you believed them? Have you ever once in your life heard of the term "Safari server" before?!

so i guess this is just affecting the iphone as a couple of my co workers have no problems with there non-iphones.....i am in wilmington, de and have no edge or 3g data

The hell is a "Safari server"? As though all data requests have to be vetted by Apple. These AT&T goons can't even come up with a decent excuse for why their shoddy network is down.

Out in South West Missouri too. Further west than St. Louis. Blackberry is working fine too.

Ugh, called AT&T, again.
The person I spoke with said that we can expect service by noon.
Which seems optimistic at this rate, but hopefully true.

just called and got a "one time courtesy credit" for $20 for next month's bill. In addition to saying how everything's down today, i also mentioned that i've had to turn off 3G data on the phone basically since launch day, and that i'm paying more for a 3G service that I can't even use.

Southeast New Hampshire is down too :( I thought something was wrong with my iPhone this morning since it's jailbroken... hehe. I guess not.
