So since I first saw the Milanese Loop at the announcement I always wanted it... Until today.

Today at work somebody got in the elevator and he had an Apple Watch with it.. I was shocked at how feminine it looked. This was my first time seeing it in person and while it was a sort of short time I still got to see it and I just thought it would look different.

Anybody felt the same way? I still want to have it in my hands to see if I still want it or not.

It's for chicks. Definitely.

When the Milanese was announced I thought it was quite feminine and didn't really like it but after seeing many pictures on here I'm starting to sway. I may even have to go back to the Apple Store and ask to try on both that and the leather loop as I didn't when I was there initially. :(

I am considering buying on of those Apple Watch Band Adapters on eBay or Amazon. Then you can put virtually any band on the Watch you can find without paying the exorbitant Apple prices.

I'm going to get the milanese loop 42mm watch. It's what I like and i'm very comfortable with my sexuality that I really don't care if someone thinks if it's feminine or not. I'll buy what I like and i'll continue to do so. I make high pitched voices when I come home to my dogs and when I see cute animals, and I use Aussie shampoo marketed at females. I'm very comfortable with myself and really don't give a hoot what people think. Buy what you like and don't think anything of it.
I'd like this twice if I could.

I've considered that but I'm one for choosing a style and sticking to it so once I find something that I'm comfortable with wearing all day every day I will stick to it with just my sport band as a backup so in my head I'm happy to pay a premium (to an extent, not paying £300 for a link bracelet) and have 1 official band.

This is what I'm doing right now. I have many different bands and a few adapters that I change depending on what I wanna wear that day. I got a really, really nice steel band from Amazon that cost $35. Definitely worth it and didn't have to pay $450 even though the Apple version is definitely nicer looking.

EDIT: Here are a couple of pics.

I think it's all subjective. To me, the only one that looks feminine is the sport with pink band. The Milanese Loop is a little on the thin side so maybe that contributes to the way you feel. I don't agree though.

No at that moment I didn't exp
Do the links pinch your hair?

No I didn't have that experience with it. Even though at first I thought it would, but surprisingly it didn't. The link bracelet is an awesome band, The only problem I had with it is the price.

When I went to the Apply Store yesterday one of the Geniuses had one on and I liked the look so I tried one on. Other than being cold (not used to metal bands) it felt and looked great. I like how thin it is. If it was thick and heavy I would not even be interested in a metal band. I don't wear leather so I am not interested in those at all. I'll be asking for the Milanese band for Fathers day or my Birthday. It'll be my band for those 'Fancy' occasions.

I just ordered one this morning (42mm). I've been debating which band(s) for some time, but I realized that I hate wearing plastic or even leather watch bands here in New York City during the hot, humid summer -- the subway platforms literally get up to 95 or even 100 degrees or more... and I hate having my wrist sweat under a plastic or leather band! So a metal band is the only one for me -- and I don't think the Milanese Loop looks feminine at all... as someone said earlier, the Skagen watch line has always had these bands. I wouldn't say it's my favorite metal watch band ever, but I like it MUCH more than the link bands... those are so common, and appear on so many cheap or middle-of-the-road watches, that they don't appeal to me at all. So for me, the choice of the ML band was easy.

Also, I tried it on in a store several weeks ago, and it looked great and was extremely comfortable to wear -- it was nice how it sort of hugged my wrist (and I don't mind having something "feminine" hugging my wrist!!) Kidding aside, though, I thought it felt great, and one nice thing is that as it uses a (very strong) magnet to hold the band closed, it's infinitely adjustable in terms of exactly how tight or loose you want to make it, i.e., it doesn't use fixed positions or holes in a band, etc.

I don't think the ML is feminine at all. There are many men's watches with mesh bands.

I do think, however, that it's a fairly formal-looking band and doesn't go well with jeans and tee shirt.

The link bracelet, though more expensive, is IMHO more versatile in terms of working with suits or jeans.

Golly gee I hope it's not to feminine, I just ordered one. I almost ordered my watch with one but felt that it would slow down the order. I seems that I was right in that thought. Those orders seem to taking forever to fill.

Does this mean that when I wear it I won't be able to go to to red neck bars?

Oh, well I've never wanted to go to one anyway.

I think it's partly the way that one end loops around, that makes it look more easy to use and thus "feminine".

However, as I've pointed out before, things that look "feminine" often change roles in a formal environment. E.g. silk, ruffles and fine-loop watch bands, suddenly become masculine "elegant" when worn to a black tie affair.

Fashion perception is all about where and when. But as others have said, it's your own perception that counts. Well, okay, or your spouse's perception! ;)

(Note that I have a black Milanese band on a space grey sport.)

Black Milanese Band?

Just received my 38mm ML loop from Apple. I have relatively small/nonhairy wrists and I think it looks fine. However, I only plan on using it when dressed up. The Classic Loop will be my daily office band, and my Sport for the weekend and working out. Not so sure I will want to be switching bands out all the time, though. Might just settle on one. If I had to choose today, to would be the BSB.

The biggest problem I have with the ML is not that it might look feminine, but that it is heavier, not as comfy as the BSB, and makes my arm ache just a bit. Maybe that little extra weight, or maybe becuase I tend to wear it tighter. If you don't wear it tight, it tends to flop around a lot.

I have the 38 ML so...

The 38 feels right for my wrist size and I love the look and feel of the ML. Goes great with my typical (formal) workwear and I've the black and white sport bands for exercise or more casual clothes.

I like it. That's all that matters.

The link bracelet was the one she loved for me.

My wife bought me the link bracelet. I'm starting to switch between the milanese and the link every week. The milanese is much lighter; the link feels like a piece of equipment comparatively speaking.

Yes the ML is definitely lighter for sure, and looks very nice. And is a very good buy for the price in comparison to the link Bracelet.

But link to me is a work of art, and is very comfortable for the type of band it is. Also there is a thread on this forum where people are experiencing discoloration of the ML band. After wearing it for a few weeks. Also the link bracelet look and feels a more durable to me.

The only draw back with link bracelet is the price. But then there are other bands out there for other high end watches that goes for the Same price.

The funny thing about the link bracelet is the initial adjustment. I read somewhere that each link is a different size, and at one point during the initial adjustment I forgot where the links came from so I had to line them all up to see if I could figure out which ones were on which end. I'm still not sure that they're large-to-small, but at that point I wasn't going to pull out a micrometer to measure them.

I didn't notice this about the link bracelet, going to check it out for sure.

I returned mine but not because it looked feminine or not but because it wasn't as comfortable to wear every day. I'm much more comfortable with the Sport band.
Same here... I now use the leather loop (42mm) and sport band. They both feel so much nicer on my wrist. I type a lot and could feel the milanese edges on my skin.

Everyone is different so I agree it's best to try it on and see what you think in person.

During our try on appointment, my wife preferred the Milanese on me over the link bracelet. So we ordered a 42 SS Milanese for myself and 38mm SS WSB for her. My wrist measures approx 183mm.
