Don't get it why people don't like this guy here, his reports are always spot on.
Because he gets paid for his opinions on Apple, while his detractors in here are not. And because people take account of his opinions, which can not be said for those of his detractors.

Now Apple just needs a small version of the iPhone X to mop up the rest of the profits. I’d gladly trade in my X for a smaller sized version. Premium compact phones - I vote yes!

Yes strange it's gone quiet on the iPhone SE2 speculation . . .

It would be great if the early adopter fee for the iPhone X phones was reduced after only one year. Might actually get me to buy one over the 9.

In a way it was already reduced ... when I got my X it was the first time I saw an iPhone with over 50% in rebates / credits ($650 total). I think Apple figured out quickly that $1000 for a base model was a bridge too far.

Makes sense. Last year a lot of the tech was bleeding edge. Combine that with a new iPhone X Plus model and you'd end up with that model starting around $1199 which is a bit crazy. By introducing the iPhone X Plus model at $999 you can still help keep the average selling price high while pushing more volume at the low end. If that price turns out to be true then I'd expect the lineup to look like this:
  • iPhone X Plus: $999
  • iPhone X: $849
  • iPhone (new edge-to-edge): $699
  • iPhone SE (new edge-to-edge): $499
Additionally they could add a storage capacity option of 512GB on the two X models to bump ASP by a bit.
Fake News!!

Zzzzzzzzz.....

Nothing cool to get excited about.

I can't even make iPhone calls from my macOS yet..... just the crappy FaceTime Audio app that sucks.

I made the same decision. I went w/ the 8 plus for two reasons: first, cost. Second, I just didn't see any "gotta have it features" that I couldn't live without. Now if price comes down, I'll def get the biggest X. I think crossing the $1,000 barrier was a poor decision. Keep it under that and I'll upgrade.

It's good that Apple will make a big flagship iPhone again for those who want it. But what was special last year is it was the first time in years that Apple made a "normal" size phone with all the bells and whistles. I was getting really tired of a getting a second rate camera since I didn't want an iPhone Plus, and I happily upgraded to the X this spring.

I hope that Cook doesn't remove features from the standard sized OLED iPhone this year, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a stunt to try and force users to the Plus again.

(LOL a bit since the definition of a "normal" sized phone keeps getting bigger ...)

Sure, us iPhone X users will feel a bit burned but the reality is we will get over it since our upgrades will be cheaper. For everyone else it is just a win. This is a speed bump on the way to a much smoother road for Apple. Try to price their best phones year after year at $1000+ was a recipe for disaster.

I really hope that Cook doesn't remove features (such as the dual camera) to justify the X price drop and/or push buyers to the more expensive 6.5" OLED model. At least so far the rumors are that this will not happen.

Fake News!!
Of course there wen't new iPhones today, lol.

As for fake news, do you think Apple will release an iPhone X Plus starting at $1200?

Ah, the oft-hyped Ming-chi Kuo has returned. Is he really any more accurate in his predictions than your average run-of-the-mill tech rumor prognosticator? Who knows? Nobody’s actually done a proper comparative analysis. He sure does make certain that the rumor sites say how great he is when they repeat his predictions, though. Say how great he is every time, and everyone will remember when he’s right, forget when he’s wrong, and perception becomes reality.

Can't wait to ditch my X for a new X. Smallest available please. I got one of the first X's available and it scratched up horribly (front only) in the first two months. Worse than the three year old 6 Plus it was replacing. Really quite defective.

I didn't feel like battling Apple about it as I saw they were deleting threads in their own forums from other angry early adopters like myself, so I've just kept it and dealt with it. Be gone, old X.

PS It does piss me off that the price is dropping considering what a piece of junk the front screen is on this. Oh well.

Hey, what's with the watermark on that image? That looks like what my wife does to me once a week.

Gimme the 6.1 lcd please. Although oled is nice, it isn’t worth that much extra on a phone. On a tv it is.
To each their own but I use my phone at least five times as much as I watch tv. Spending more on a phone is the best place to spend it for myself
