Essentially more somewhat obvious information from Kuo. Outside of his insider news / leaks, I swear Kuo has a quota (no pun intended) requiring he post something weekly to be featured on some news sites.

I know I missed some announcements, but so far on the X.

  1. Announce supply constraints due to production issues. (Newsworthy insider news he excels at)
  2. Announce Supply will be low at launch (somewhat obvious due to your first announcement)
  3. Announce that supply will cause lower than expected 2017 earnings (again, obvious)
  4. Announce that a bulk of orders will be fulfilled in 2018 (again obvious considering how little of 2017 remains, and the before mentioned supply constraints.
  5. Report that future models will incorporate some from their current newest model. (Again obvious progression)
  6. I assume we will next hear (in 2018) that iPhone sales are lead by the X model, and that it is the highest profit maker in 1st 2nd quarter. But we will have to wait for that eventual announcement. Of course after we hear his announcements that models are sold out and the device is popular late in 2017.

When I order at 12:01am on pre-order day, I hope that doesn't mean I get delivery 6 months later.
Yes and it that is the kind of delay we get in our order I for one will then just wait, cancel the order and enjoy my 7Plus 256 til fall and there are more choices, plus by then it is my phone and I just wait til I get my new ones ;-)

For whatever it is worth, count me among those disappointed with the iPhone X. I have nothing original to add, other than in addition to the notch being a mistake, so are the rounded corners on the screen. What good is "edge-to-edge- screen if so much of it is off limits?

To me, the most appealing feature of the iPhone X is the dual camera without the bulk of the iPhone 8 Plus. Count me among those who wants a top-notch camera without a giant phone.

So, I think I'm going to sit this one out for another year, holding onto my iPhone 6 until I see what 2018 brings. It's starting to feel really slow with iOS 11, so maybe I'll cave, but the iPhone X is not the phone I was hoping for, and neither is the 8 or 8 Plus.

His job isn’t really to intrigue iPhone buyers, it’s to provide frequent updates to investors.

If the delivery of the iPhone X will be like Februari 2018 (or even later) then I think I will wait for the next generation (or buy the iPhone 8 now).
Me I will just cancel my X 256 order and stay with my 7Plus 256 for another year it still is pretty fast and all even with out the latest coprocessors and it is an aluminum backed model -- wireless charging does not interest me either way... just the camera tech of the X

I think before end of 2017 the X will be severely hard to find and shipping with huge delay, but once you get into the doldrums of January/February and those monstrous December credit card statements arrive, suddenly demand on the most expensive iPhone ever will dip and Apple will be able to ship 'em faster.

I have an edge-to-edge screen on my 6s, right up to the edge of the bezel. :D lol

The rounded corners on the screen don't bother me, but, Apple having limited the small phones from having their best cameras, does bother me.

With the exception of screens between models, I am happy that Google put the screws to Apple, putting identical features in both models of their Pixel. REALLY hoping Apple follows suit and offers their customers future phones with identical features in all sizes.

Only time will tell.

Guess I’m skipping the 10 waiting for the 11. Since in a couples months later in 2018 a newer iPhone will be out.

Have to agree. If you're on an upgrade plan you cant upgrade for 12 months, that means going forward you're always going to be many months post launch to be eligible to upgrade.

Yep, and the X+ model will be out. This "new standard" lineup of iPhones, a lower price, and ProMotion display. I'm not surprised that most people will be upgrading next year.

"Kuo has a quota" :D
That is brilliant. Intend the pun. Own it. Be proud of it. :D

And I agree with you this seems mostly quite obvious stuff.

This is the primary reason I decided to just get an 8+ this year and wait for the next revision of the X in 2018. The "retaining the most appealing features" is key because some of the X's features may not play out well enough to retain. And that true depth camera system needs a few million testers to help get it right just like touch ID did when it came out.

As a 6S owner, the right call this year has always been to get an 8+ on a carrier financing program and to prepay a certain amount (I did $200). I did that and am eligible for a new phone in May. When May comes, I can walk into an Apple store and pick up an X or keep my 8+ until the Xs comes out. In the meantime, I enjoy wireless charging, airpods, and the best camera available.

Why not just skip the upgrade? Why

Go back to 10.3.3. while you still can! :)

I was already waiting until next year to make my purchase decision. The X is a nice phone but it is too expensive for what you get.

Apple is trying to push its flagship products into luxury goods territory where exclusivity is a major part of the pricing matrix. With 64GB of unexpandable memory and the same basic form factor (albeit with a larger screen) as the existing $649 iPhone 7 that $350 price jump is substantial. I understand the AMOLED screen is costing somewhere around $70 more than the LCD screen which would account for some of the increase, but even at that a $750 or even $800 price would seem to be reasonable.

We'll see how it goes next year. I like the larger screen of my current iPhone 6 Plus. Hopefully Apple will have phones with modern designs that are competitive with the Galaxy S8 Plus and the Google Pixel 2 XL. I really like Apple products, but I fear the iPhone XS Plus with 64GB will start at $1,150 compared the Samsung and Google plus flagships' $850.
